On June 19th, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally received word of their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a time to honor Black resilience, celebrate Black joy, and recommit ourselves to the ongoing fight for racial justice. Guess what?  On Oct. 25, 2023, President Biden formally called on Congress to provide $16 billion in child care stabilization funding.
