Hey well I know you’re not taking shots here. Let me at least respond because I think in part it is aimed at me. I would not say that I don’t watch AEW. In fact, I probably watch more AEW than WWE on a yearly basis. I just don’t watch their weekly programming. I try and catch most of their pay-per-view’s and, I’ll try and watch some of the special events they have. I attended shows. I don’t watch weekly WWE TV and have not in maybe 20 years. To be honest, I just don’t have the time, although I did used to make time to watch dynamite. However I’ve been more put off the programming to the point ..read more

Follow up on Okada: Agree. It also gives Okada chances to have less physically taxing matches, so when it’s time for Okada to move up to the Main event, you have a healthy Okada. storywise, It gives time for Okada to be woven into the “AEW Universe” (sorry… ) as an AEW talent and interact with the roster creating potential impetuses for storylines down the road. From the clips I’ve seen, and because I’m always wary of stereotyping and tropes in wrestling, I can see where people could have issues, but he’s been good - because he’s Okada. There’s only so much main event or spotlight time. What y ..read more

Denise cooked in that clip Reg just comes off as a typical apologist. Re: The handling of Okada. I don’t mind it, to be honest. The usual formula for the hot new AEW talent is they go on a big main event run as soon as they arrive, they either win or they lose, and TK loses interest and stops putting them on television after six months. It seems he’s taking a different approach with Okada and I’d argue that’s not a bad thing. The main event scene is already full with Ospreay and Swerve dominating segments, plus the return of MJF. There are a ton of guys and girls who have already been there f ..read more

I would argue this is a much larger issue on this board when it comes to WWE than AEW. Pretty much everyone on this board watches AEW, many many contributors (including yourself) admittedly don’t want any WWE yet have a ton to say about it. I’m not watching AEW weekly TV during this PPV cycle because I’m not into Forbidden Door and I never talk about New Japan (because I don’t care and don’t watch), and I’m guessing you’re talking about Alex who I believe isn’t watching this current cycle either, but both of us like 99% of this board watch the PPVs and usually watch the main TV. I don’t think ..read more

I’m not sure what intention is behind how people voice their displeasure. People who admittedly don’t watch (not a shot at anybody in particular) will contribute to threads on AEW weekly, stating their issues and opinions with that show, they don’t watch, making every thread about AEW on this board explode to 100+ replies. It is very hard to navigate AEW discussions, because there are people who watch and have genuine opinions that make for discussion (which I feel like we can do here), and then the other half is “AEW needs to do this” or “AEW isn’t doing this from what I’ve heard”. It’s so mu ..read more
