Roof mounted water storage

This was made from parts left over from various home improvement projects. Rather than spending $20 for 4" ABS end caps I just used 1/4" ABS plastic sheeting that I already had on hand. I put one fill/drain spout on each end so I could siphon from which ever side was lower. The spouts are just 1" PVC female threaded couplings with threaded plugs that were shaped to fit the curvature of the 4"ABS pipe. To siphon water I used a hose and black plastic beverage tap from my... Read more ..read more

For Sale GoFastCamper v1 with extras for 5’ bed Tacoma western mass
Expedition Portal Forum
by Macdadmorgan

Well, since I bought my super duty, put a four wheel camper on it, and kept my Tacoma to daily Drive I have not slept in the GoFast in a year and a half. Time to put it up for sale. This is a first generation Gofastcamper, so it has the cro-molly frame. The cro-molly frame must not have been prepped perfectly as it has rusted through the powdercoat. The frame will need to be sanded down and repainted. You could still camp with it the way it is right now. But aesthetically it would look a lot... Read more ..read more

…with some new parts. After sitting for a couple years with a cursed engine, the rig is running. Once again, special thanks to the Az Crew for looking out and hooking me up with a replacement engine. The rig is pretty much done except for the overhead pod for gauges and switches. It’s time to drive it. There’s not much left to upgrade. This is the updated build parts list (at least what I can recall). Posting here so I can keep track of what’s installed. 1990 Montero LS SHO fan 2.5k/4.5k... Read more ..read more

In Anza Borrego desert, camp fires have to be in a metal container with a bottom. Looking for creative ideas. What I want - something dual purpose - collapsible would be great, but not required if its very useful as something else - Low walls Ideas I've found - washing machine drum (too big, walls too high) - turkey pot (pretty good idea, but bulky) - Wash tub from home depot (galvanized - I've read this is bad on health ..read more

Fiberglass cloth on plywood: order of operations

I'm exploring/planning a plywood exterior flatbed truck camper (wood framed with foam board insulation), and exploring adding more structure and water protection by glassing the whole thing with fiberglass cloth and epoxy (like the West System). I'm considering if its worth glassing the plywood sheets before installing them onto the frame, and then doing some touch-up glass work where the screws/nails are afterwards. My thinking is that it would be far, far easier to do that than to... Read more ..read more

Dropping the price to 20k $25,000 We are looking to sell our 2015 Turtleback. It has been loved by us since 2017 but we’re hoping for our 3rd child later this year so we’ve just outgrown it. We are moving onto a xpedition Camper Voyger. The layout of this trailer is a bit different but we have found it to be preferable to the origional TB layout. I designed and built this layout for quick and effortless set up and tear down. The roof rack articulates up using 8 pivoting legs and... Read more ..read more
