Please help identify these CNC machines found at my school. (should make PCBs)

2 of these have been found in a cupboard here at the school, with a new belt I think they can work again. (I've been here since 2005 and never seen them!) Unfortunately they have now text or descriptors as to who or what model they are. This is making finding software, documentation tricky. They have a serial port on the control board, so I'm hoping they can be hooked up. (I still have PCs with serial) pics: extra challenge all pictures upside down. Attached Thumbnails       ..read more

Hi all, I am completely new to everything related to the CNC world, having said that I have had a machine sitting in their boxes for some time now and decided now is the time to build and have some fun with it. I have followed the instructions by Ooznest and managed to assemble it. I have uploaded the software and the next thing to do is to home the X Y and Z axis. The X and Y home as they should but the Z is supposed to move upwards hit the limit switch then stop. Mine does not go up but goes down, any ideas as to why? I have contacted Ooznest they suggested that I copy all the code and send ..read more

Hi all, Thank you for allowing me to join this forum, My name is Mark and I live in a small village called Alfriston in East Sussex. I retired from ill health a few years ago. So I decided to buy the two things I had wanted for a few years, the first was a Jaguar XKR, and the second was a CNC machine. The CNC sat in its boxes for about a year and a half as my health was quite bad and I just could not manage to put it together. But now I have. The machine I have is an Ooznest Workbee Z1+ 1000x1000. It is now sitting in my small shed waiting to be homed. And that is where I finish this introduct ..read more

Chinese Sliding Axis

Been using my home built cnc mill router for years now for personal use. Its getting a bit worn and after being shipped with our belongings from Europe to New Zealand , everything is a little out of wack. The Y,Z axis shake while doing 1.5mm doc in 6062 aluminium to the point where I cannot get smooth profiles or pockets. A lot of tool chatter. I have tightened everything up and tried to square things up a little. Im a bit older now and my patients span is short . So, I'm considering swapping the Y/Z axis out for ready built units. I have been looking at Chinese ones and understand maybe they ..read more
