CNC laser machines of the above types are characterized by reliability, significant power and compactness. Depending on the model chosen, they can perform a wide range of tasks: ✅ they can cut pipes, profiles and sheet metal (stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, aluminum); ✅ the power of the emitter can be selected in the range (1000-20000) W (this determines the maximum thickness of the processed workpiece and the cutting speed; ✅ provide excellent efficiency and cutting quality; ✅ are equipped with reliable built-in cooling systems; ✅ have a user-friendly control interface; ✅ have reas ..read more

Engraving leather and leatherette on laser marker, 30W

Leather Fiber optic markers are not designed to work with organics, and leather is an organic material. How, then, can a marker work on skin? In fact, the laser does not interact with the skin itself, but with the materials it is treated with - tannins, dyes, and more. Therefore, depending on the origin of the leather, its preparation and processing will determine the quality and characteristics of the engraving, including the power and speed settings. The same leather, treated and prepared differently, will also behave differently when engraved. It can gobble, or it will burn or engrave norm ..read more

How do you pick a manufacturer?

Hey everyone! I'm one of those people that just have to do a lot of research before jumping into something, which can be quite annoying at times but I have accepted it, and right now I'm looking for advice on how to pick a manufacturing center. The thing is I'm looking for CNC manufacturers cause I'm feeling I'm getting a bit tired of the communication problems with mine, but I can't pick one without proper research. I've been googling around and I've found articles like this one https://wikifactory.com/+wikifactory...-your-products but I wonder if there there is more to it than that. Basica ..read more

Home built CNC running Mach 3 with x-axis inaccuracy problem

I have a home built CNC running Mach 3 with an x-axis inaccuracy problem. The table is 20' in the x-axis. I have set the steps calibrated at 100" and get unexpected variation at lower or higher values. For example test at 36", DRO reads 36" actual measure is 37.5", test at 204" and DRO reads 204 but the actual measure is 202.8. Machine returns to zero properly so I don't think I'm missing steps. I've changed the control board and reduced the velocity but neither made any difference. Any suggestions as to the source of the problem ..read more

A new or used Tormach CNC Mill ... Which Would You Choose?

I am dipping my toes in the waters of machining as a part-time gig. My focus for now will be small jobs from Xometry. I know some people have strong opinions about Xometry, but for now it's the best option for me and my current goals. And I now have an opportunity to buy a used Tormach PCNC 1100. If you were starting a small, one-person, side-gig CNC machining business in your garage, which one of the three machines below would you choose? Please keep in mind that my budget is somewhere in the $16k range. My options are a ... * New PCNC 440 with some extras. * New 770M with very limited extr ..read more
