Has gold finally caught fire?

From the desk of GoldCore CEO, Stephen Flood This morning gold moved above $2,000/oz. The previous intraday high (seen in 2020) was $2,080. If you saw our recent interview with Patrick Karim then you might be recalling his comments that a close here on a monthly basis would signify a break of a trend line going back to 2011. This, of course, would be very bullish. I spoke to Dave Russell about what has been going on, these last couple of weeks:   So where are we at? It’s been over a week since the millennial of the banking world, Silicon Valley Bank, ‘stunned’ markets ..read more

As a relative newbie (summer 2022?) I have followed closely the discussion of the current banking situation on the Gold monitoring thread GB with great interest and have to say impressed by the knowledge that many posters have on this subject, this is the first time that many of us newbies, will have experienced a significant rise in the spot price and raises the same questions, buying, selling, waiting to see if it will dip - or not, the posts on the why's and wherefores  by the more experienced I have found really interesting and informative, thank you. Not being interested in selling b ..read more

Todays Royal Mint Auction

Last time I watched an auction at the royal mint most of the  pieces were finally sold for over the estimated price but it looks like today's auction was a bit of a disappointment for them, loads of items were either unsold or went for under the estimated price, one 2002  full sovereign went for £350 + fees and 2 others for under £400, so it seems a bargain could have been picked up for those taking part today  ..read more

Hello, I probably ended up on this forum due to the latest panic videos on youtube but aside that, it's a good opportunity to get some info regarding buying physical gold/silver..   So, what coin would you suggest someone to buy considering the following requirements: - coin price has to be close to market price of the metal its made of - coin can be sold at any time at more than 95% of the market price of the metal its made of - coin could be traded for basic goods in case of a shtf situation   I browsed celticgold and europeanmint websites, and saw that only gold coins checks the ..read more

2012 Gold Sovereigns

Hi all, I traded in some britainias for 10 mixed dates gold sovereigns. To my surprise, when I opened the box, I had 10 x 2012 gold sovereigns still in the royal mint plastic packaging, which I have not seen before on any of the YouTube vids I've watched. I've only started stacking since Christmas and this is a good proportion of my investment. I'm not sure on how best to maximise what I have now, this wasn't part of the plan. First I invested in bullion, then see that is a bit boring, it's just gold, so then decided that sovereigns were what appealed to me, the history and the numismatic side ..read more

I saw @ChrisSilver’s post on the 830 trade topics. I have to say that I have not seen as much variety on TSF before with real volume and diversity - so as to appeal to a very wide group of people    A while back, I struggled to find enough Sovs, Brits, Nuggets etc to buy on TSF at any point.  Now there is a very very good supply and flow of coins which I want to buy at all times. Keep it up everyone   Best Dicker       ..read more
