Do people commonly or rarely insure their gold bullion (coin collection) which they keep at their home (with a special addition to the policy)? I ask because I'm trying to do that and I'm getting responses from insurance agents to the effect that they've never had to deal with that. Is it likely that very few people try to insure their gold holdings? I have a hard time believing that when you see all the companies selling gold on tv, etc. Thanks in advance ..read more

My stack has alway been about insurance and peace of mind.
Now that I’m retired (6 years) I find that I really don’t need to touch my stack so I keep it feeling safe and just enjoy it for what it is.
As we all know life has a way of changing on dime and throwing curveball at you.
Two months back I developed and autoimmune di ..read more

Thought I'd post some precision measurements I made on a few AGEs dated 1993, 2004, and 2008. Here are the details of the three coins. The coin and weight is in the first line. Then the two fundamental ping frequencies followed by the two harmonic ping frequencies. Also the shimmer frequency is listed as "dif=...."
As an aside, measurements on a tube of 2009 AGEs straight from a sealed monster box produced shimmer frequencies that ranged from 8Hz to 34 Hz. So don't expect the "shimmer" beat sound of a coin to indicate real v counterfeit.
Most notice when pinging that sometimes one gets a not ..read more
