The Begotten Son

Chantry woke up again and struggled to go back to sleep.  Must be due to the long sleep she’s been having every night since the summer break.  For three nights in a row, she has been asking me to sleep beside her, and I did–to provide comfort at the hour she might wake up only to struggle to go back to sleep again.  This morning is the same story but this time I decided to get up with her so she could play with her new toy instead of remaining in bed. Losing Interest on Facebook

I have reached this age of my life when updating my Facebook account has become less attractive. I have become so busy that I can’t even scroll my Facebook newsfeed longer than how I used to. I only get to comment or hit “like” on posts that appear instantly on my newsfeed without scrolling further. Checking Facebook has happened less often in 2022 as the year progressed further. If there’s any person who compels me to post on Facebook, Read more... The post Losing Interest on Facebook appeared first on Parenting Rock ..read more

Children’s Day

More than 21 degrees Celsius in our home in Vancouver, my 7-year-old daughter was playing with her dolls while I was immersed in my studies for my exam. In a tiny and mischievous voice, she asked, “When is Children’s Day?” “Everyday is Children’s Day,” I answered with a smile on my face. “But is there a Mother’s Day?” “Yes.” Thinking about whether I should justify the rationality behind the lack of Children’s Day and why Mother’s Day is celebrated annually, Read more... Drawing is what I do everyday. It is actually my favorite thing to do when I’m bored and when I’m not bored. I actually see my progress in drawing. Before, I drew with no shadows…wait, my very interesting speech is getting boring. But actually this is my 11 year old progress. Which was sometime in February: February: I hope i’m not boastful. I just want to share my drawings like the ones who share theirs in tiktok and Youtube. Read more... The post “Art” my dream appeared first on Parenting Rock ..read more

Hi, I’m Cherin. I’m 11 years old.  Yesterday was August 23, 2022. It was like a yes day. Chantry and Mama went to a beach with their friends. I was at home with Papa. When Chantry’s home, we go to Papa’s room. He would play Mobile Legends and sometimes Chantry goes to the most comfortable spot. I also do sometimes. But this time I went to the comfortable spot and Papa played Mobile Legends. Read more... The post A Child-Friendly Writing appeared first on Parenting Rock ..read more

All of us were seated around the dining table at lunch time when Poppa raised this question to me in the presence of our kids, “How has God shown His love to all humanity?” Eagerly, I answered his question and explained to our kids about God’s love: “God has shown His love to us that while we were still sinners, He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as a ransom for many, Read more... Font Type of Music

Feeling frustrated after an incident, I asked my daughter gently, “Okay, listen to this type of music.” I pulled up a playlist of modern songs from Spotify and started playing these unfamiliar songs so her ears can hear and accept the trend in secular music. The list revealed songs by Olivia Rodrigo with cuss and curses. There were even songs by other artists I didn’t even know existed… but I played them. “I don’t like these songs, Read more... “What do I want to become someday?” We were seated on a couch while listening to a song, which Hale had to familiarize as part of her lineup of songs on her Voice class. I gazed at Hale who was right beside me as she pondered aloud this question. She said she wanted to be a gamer and a hacker. I counselled that she can study Cybersecurity later in college, which will allow her to become a certified ethical hacker. Read more... The post Future appeared first on Parenting Rock ..read more
