Euro 2024 kicks off this Friday 14th June with the hosts Germany taking on the supreme, sensational Scotland in the opening game.  Hopefully one of these 2 teams will be the ultimate champions ><.  I usually support the underdog, however, sorry Germany, I’m making an exception in this match, I’ll be cheering on my team, Scotland!   Here’s the Kraków Expats Directory guide to where to watch the games. The 23rd Great Dragon Parade (Wielka Parada Smoków) and accompanying events take place in Kraków on Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th June 2024. The main attractions of the Great Dragon Parade are a waterborne ‘parade’ on Saturday evening along the Wisła River with dragons floating above boats and barges, accompanied by music, pyrotechnics, laser and light shows, then, on Sunday, a dragon parade along Grodzka to the Rynek.  A ‘Dragon Family Picnic’ will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 10am by the Dragons Den, on the Wisła embankment below Wawel, with exciting dragon games and fun, as well ..read more

‘Saski Garden’ opens to the public from today, Wednesday 29th May, at Hotel Saski, Kraków. I had the pleasure of attending the ‘Saski Garden’ official opening party on Monday, for a preview. You can watch a short video and see my pictures from the opening party below. The garden courtyard is an oasis of understated style which was nice and cool on a roasting hot late May afternoon. A special garden menu has been created by Roman, the chef of the hotel’s ‘Regale’ restaurant. Elections for the European Parliament (Wybory do Parlamentu Europejskiego) will take place between 7am-9pm on Sunday 9th June 2024. The upcoming elections will be the 10th since the first vote in 1979, and the first since Brexit.  Poland will elect 53 Members of the European Parliament (MEP’s). Who should you vote for? On Saturday 18th May, the 20th edition of Kraków’s equality march (Marsz Równości) took place, with around 12,000 participants, including for the first time ever, Kraków’s newly elected President, Aleksander Miszalski. I joined the march on a glorious sunny May afternoon, and took a few photos and lot’s of video (coming soon’ish).   I’m so proud of my city Kraków, it was a great turnout – a festival of  colour, fun, love, tolerance, and pride! Juwenalia Kraków (Juwenalia Krakowskie) student festival is underway in Kraków until 19th May. This Friday 17th May, the students parade and pageant takes place, when the students, dress up in colourful and creative fancy dress costumes, and walk from Klub Studio, at the AGH student dorms, to Plac Szczepański, where they receive the keys to the city.
