recently moved into this rental and i’m not that big on the bedroom. i prefer walls with a darker tone +dark wood furniture. maybe like mid century but with darker tones or the types of rooms that can be associated with dark academia or whatever it’s called. i like black/dark brown/dark orange?/maroon/dark green colors.
walls can’t be painted. bed, desk, and side table (unless i find space) cant be removed. i’m replacing the white desk chair with a better black office chair. white storage units can go, but i really like the cube storage so it would need to be replaced with something that ..read more

Hi, I would like your opinions on bedding colors for a room.
The color of the walls in the room are white while the flooring is a dark cherry wood. The ceiling fan blades are like a mahogany/dark cherry wood color with the rest essentially being brushed nickel. I am getting black furniture (bed with shelves, tall dresser cabinet, desk/chair, media console, and mirror frame) and would like to have black curtains as I sleep during the days. So for the sheets, pillow covers, and blankets I’m wondering what colors I should get. I’m thinking of olive-ish colors but don’t know if runner rugs (2) wi ..read more

Hi, would appreciate any advice!
Current living room floor plan (A/B/C refers to speaker placement for surround, ignore in this post.)
The bay window is a feature, overlooks green spaces hence the current sofa placement. TV in the corner so both sofas can view, but 90% of the time we’re on sofa 1.
Does this layout work or are there any alternative formats you think would work? Thanks in advance

Planning on building a floor to ceiling bookshelf to take up a third of the entrance distance between living room and dining area and putting a Murphy bed in the bedroom.
Desk by the living room window,
Any ideas? It's such a strange layout. Thank you kindly

Everything feels very matchey-matchey with the honey colored wood everywhere. The rug helped mitigate the floor. I had hoped the curtains would provide some dimension and contrast but they aren’t enough. How is this still so monotone?!
My ideas: - paint or stain the bedside tables (need to be sanded down anyways) - Definitely need to replace the decor in the far corner - the silver doesn’t match and the beige brown floral arrangement is too similar in color to everything else - getting rid of TV - painting the room or an accent wall - art? lol
Plz send help
