We have been doing some remodeling and the paint I picked out for my office turned out not to be the shade of blue I thought it would be. I thought it was a paler blue, but it looks like a baby’s nursery. If I admit I hate the color and have it re-painted my husband will throw a fit. I am thinking maybe with the right art work and window treatments (maybe Navy blue?)I can tone down the “nursery” look. Or should I just take my lecture and have it re-painted?

Moving into a new apartment and my new living room is 10’x14.5’ long (plus an additional 4’ of “dining” space gapping to the kitchen which has doors on either side and I do not want to overlap the sitting area into).
Due to configuration, my main couch and tv stand/speakers will be on opposite side of the 10’ width. At the far end of the 14’ length there are two large windows and on the left hand wall a standard sized swinging door to my balcony. I’d like to put two accent chairs at the far end in front of the windows.
Where I’m running into trouble is how to work a rug into all of this - the ..read more

Obsessed with this rug and I’m so picky with rugs, but the price point is ridiculous. Having elements of navy with a terracotta colored red base is more important than remaining faithful to the exact design. Thanks!

just moved into a house and have stock photos of the living room from the listing, I really want a sectional sofa and I'm wondering where the best place to put it would be, im thinking to put the TV on the wall where the two floral photos are, and then have the sectional against the wall that originally has the TV, and the L part of the sectional sticking towards the windows/lamp, that way you can walk from the front door into the living room
let me know any other suggestions im open to anything!

I moved into this apartment about a month ago, and I hate my room. It’s super small, and weirdly shaped, so I can’t move the furniture around at all. Open to all suggestions, but please keep in mind, I don’t have a huge budget (broke af college student). This is what I don’t like:
-It’s very dark. As per my lease, I cannot change the lightbulbs. I have one small window tucked in a cubby area where my desk is. Even when it’s light out, the window is blocked by buildings, so the sun barely peeks in.
-I don’t know how to decorate above my bed. I have posters there right now, but I think they ..read more

Can anyone possibly offer some suggestions on how to make this entryway not ugly?
We are going to replace the tile with hardwood floors, and absolutely give everything a new coat of paint (no millennial gray. I promise). Also definitely going to remove the fan and put in a nice light fixture in its place.
There’s something about the stairs and banister that is really off to me… Is it the iron rods on the banister? Is it the wood banister? Is there another way to design the banister? The banister is likely necessary for code, so any other way to design the stairs/banister?
Any other sugges ..read more

Personally I was thinking about adding a candle on that side table. Not sure about putting up my old posters.

This is my new office. It definitely needs some love. The metal filing cabinet will be leaving, to be replaced with a shorter and wider dark wood cabinet (think IKEA cubes with drawers/doors) and the palm plant will go in that back right corner. I can do pretty much anything, up to painting a neutral color on the wall. I can contact paper the desk, replace the two chairs. Add a rug. Add paintings. I need ideas, it’s a great space but I want it to feel cozy, inviting/welcoming. I’m also a pink and teal girly ??♀️ and would love to incorporate either of those colors somehow, maybe in the c ..read more
