Have you been robbed of your LEGO collection?

Do you have your Lego collection insured??? I saw this on Youtube this morning and was wondering if anyone has had this kind of thing happen to them? The insurance company thinks Legos are just toys and not an investment or that Lego values cannot go up over time. Do we AFOLs need some special Lego insurance for our collections? Are there ways to protect our investments in Lego? What can we do? Then, I found this: https://youtu.be/No9X4eQhWDI ..read more

Old vs New Hinge?
Eurobricks » General LEGO Discussion

Hello, I am building a MOC and I ran into a part discrepancy issue. My model utilizes the hinge on the left (slot with no circle). When I placed an order for more of these on bricklink, I received exclusively the ones on the right. I assumed I ordered the wrong variant but I cannot find any documentation on this difference. The problem is my moc relys heavily on the fairly stiff resistance of the left (slot only) style. The one on the right is very loose by comparison and is not compatable with my design. I know these have to be different parts because the injection sites are on ..read more

How to clean dusty sets?

Hello, I dug up some ancient topic on the matter and I got the suggestion of using vacuum cleaners with some type of filter to avoid sucking tiny parts.  That said, the last post was from many years ago and perhaps now there are better tools (or items that you've personally tested and "validated", and I mean, specific model or brand (even amazon link)). There are countless cleaners online, with price ranges from 20 to 150€, but I don't know what to look for to understand if they got a powerful suck or not (the rpm?).  I have some sets that have been sitting for long in a du ..read more

Creating an angled stiped pole (North Pole)

Hi there, I am wanting to create a striped pole that would be used in a Christmas build as a "North Pole". I wanted to create the stripes angled rather than straight and then possibly put a light brick in the top surrounded by transparent/translucent blue bricks. However, I am struggling to create the stripes in a cube.  Can anyone recommend the best way to do this, or suggest which brick number(s) I could use? Many thanks ..read more

My LEGO Workshop!

Didn't know where else to share my LEGO workshop/cave so I decided to make a new topic. This is my computer room/AFOL workshop where I design my MOCs, build LEGO sets, and display my work! I use a motorized standing desk I got a few months back, and I haven't used an office chair since. I recommend one to any AFOL, as my neck hasn't been killing me since. The display area is two Ikea shelves pushed together, inside a closet with the doors removed. On top is the boxes for all four current 1:8 Technic Hypercars, as well as the Defender set and my old Mindstorms-powered Lexus LC500 MOC. On the ..read more

Your Favourite Minifigure

Just what it says on the tin. No wrong answers, just tell me why.  Is it a poor abused keychain figure that hangs off your bag and always makes you smile? Is it the figure you took everywhere as a kid? Is it a favourite character in minifig form? A figure that you are building an army of? I'm asking a question that I can't really answer myself  I have a lot of favourites and choosing just one is going to take some thought.  Also: non standard figures are permitted. From bigfig to the little printed "Oscar" figs. We are not doing a Bricklink though, so anything that is actua ..read more

2x2 tiles (3068), types and fake or not?

Hi all, After buying a batch of new 2x2 tiles in light grey, I noticed that the bottom is different then most of my 2x2 smooth tiles. I dug up a bunch of them in different colors, to compare their backsides. My question is, do you think the grey ones (far right) are real or fake legos? Rebrickable and some other sites showed different variants that came out through the years. Maybe my light grey ones are one of the variants. Any input is appreciated ..read more
