So I came out as trans at work (yippee!) They supplied me with a form of men's uniform and said I can wear a name tag with my chosen name. But my boss said I must wear the female uniform when the inspector for the hotel comes. When I first came out and she said that I just agreed because "yippee a button down and slacks". But I've been Bucky the front desk guy for like 3 months now and the inspector will be there on Wednesday. An email was sent reminding everyone to be in required uniform. I recently changed my name with the Family Court House and I was told by different people that there was no document to file for a gender change. However, now that I need to update my school’s records; I’m being asked to provide a Court Order granting the gender change. I’ve gotten in contact with different organizations helping Trans people to seek some guidance and they have told me that the Court House doesn’t do this. Has anyone filled for a gender change in a Florida Court House? I’ll try to get in contact with the Court House directly once again as I tried doing this before and I got no ..read more

https://archive.is/WvfhM "A federal appellate court in Richmond became the first in the country to rule that state health-care plans must pay for gender-affirming surgeries, a major win for transgender rights amid a nationwide wave of anti-trans activism and legislation. "The decision came from a set of cases out of North Carolina and West Virginia, where state officials argued that their policies were based on cost concerns rather than bias. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit rejected that argument, saying the plans were discriminating against trans people in need of treatment ..read more

“Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) on Monday sued the Biden administration over new federal nondiscrimination protections for transgender students.” “The Education Department this month finalized a set of sweeping changes to Title IX, the federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in schools and education programs that receive federal funding, after more than a year of delays. The new regulations, which are slated to take effect Aug. 1, cover discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, a clause that has angered some conservatives.” “Texas will ..read more

“West Virginia and North Carolina’s refusal to cover certain health care for transgender people with government-sponsored insurance is discriminatory, a federal appeals court ruled Monday in a case likely headed to the U.S. Supreme Court.” “The Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 8-6 in the case involving coverage of gender-affirming care by North Carolina’s state employee health plan and the coverage of gender-affirming surgery by West Virginia Medicaid.” “The coverage exclusions facially discriminate on the basis of sex and gender identity, and are not substantially r ..read more
