I've had this quaint little 4.5" plate from the Staffordshire Tea Set Co for some time. I think that the backstamp dates it somewhere between 1947-1952 and that the B in the backstamp indicates that it was part of the Wartime Concentration Scheme. I would love to know who M. Hi all, I picked up this peice of poole pottery which is a nice-sized planter 16.5cm tall x 19cm. the outide has these lovely brush flowers and the inside is plain chocolate brown. The bottom has the no. 496, ABJ and then the letter K I have checked the Part one and Two in here for Poole Pottery which has left me really confused. I thought the 496 was the style but I read that the ABJ is the style and the K is the artist. I thought this was a peice by Jacqueline Mackenzie Leonard but ..read more

Hello. Does anyone have any ideas about the origins of this decorative basket of eggs? The "basket" is obviously ceramic, but so are the very realistically modelled eggs. I have seen this kind of item before, but usually with piles of lemons or flowers, from Spain, Portugal, even the UK, but those ornamental pieces are usually larger, with glossy glaze and less finely modelled.  It could be any age although there is enough wear on the bottom to suggest it isn't brand new.  Something about ..read more
