I have really been making use of my library card and getting the most out of my Hoopla credits. The following four audiobooks are books that I picked up from Hoopla. I have to say I really recommend borrowing these audiobooks as I found something enjoyable with each listen. Also, side bonus — I am whittling away at my Netgalley queue by listening to these books via Hoopla. Also, my wallet is thankful too as I am borrowing these through the library.

I love unintentionally reading books around a theme — just naturally gravitating toward different types of books. The following three books are different in genere – but all have themes of royalty. We have the apocalypse in The Prince & The Apocalypse by Kara McDowell. Katharine McGee’s American Royals series wraps up in Reign. And the search for a long lost heir is on in How To Find A Princess by Alyssa Cole.

I love that the new trend is to think of August as Augtober — to validate how much many of us want it to be fall. I know a lot of you absolutely love summer and being hot. However, I am not one of those people. Give me pumpkins and spooky season asap. If you are looking for a book that is absolutely thrilling, might I offer up the following two audiobooks – A Likeable Woman by May Cobb as well as Dark Corners by Megan Goldin. Both audiobooks are sure to have you on the edge of your seat.

When it comes to summer, I love lounging around with a contemporary romance. Give me a good trope and breezy writing and I am totally there! The following three books are romances that I breezed through this summer — and would recommend with varying caveats.

We are already almost through summer (I am so ready for the temperature to come down and the bugs to go away). I’ve gotten a little bit obsessive over these two books as they are for me my biggest hits so far this summer. Apparently this is the year that adult contemporary fiction really does it for me. These two books are quite different but both so incredibly engaging and excellent to read.

Hey my wonderful bookish friends! I listened to 8 historical romance audiobooks pretty much in a row. These three books are the last of the historical romance TBR I had queued up for the summer. Overall, this was a fun way to experience a genre I enjoy and get to a few books in this genre a little faster than normal.

Are you looking to get into historical romance? I find that I enjoy this genre because there’s some spice, but not too much spice. Usually the plots of these books are pretty interesting. I love the tension we typically see between the male and female main characters. I had quite the backlist of historical romance to get through as I am trying to increase my Netgalley ratio, so thanks to good old Hoopla, I got to listen to these audiobooks courtesy of my local library while also improving that Netgalley score.

Hello friends! Back at again with another recap of a few audiobooks I’ve been listening to and enjoying for various reasons. Of course, I can’t just keep to one genre because of who I am as a person — but here’s my thoughts!
The Magic Of Lemon Drop Pie by Rachel Linden
If you are into magical realism, you should pick up The Magic Of Lemon Drop Pie by Rachel Linden. This story is about Lolly Blanchard who has essentially been stuck in the ten years since her mother died. She wanted to run her own restaurant in England and was deeply in love. However, she breaks off the relationship a ..read more
