Craig Andrews premiers his science fiction action space adventure “Wings of Honor” which is the first audiobook in “The Forgotten Fleet” series.  I was rather excited to see that this initial title was narrated by Shamaan Casey, whose voice I have come to enjoy very much during my audiobook listening sessions.  I could not think of a better fit for his voice.  During the opening, this story reminded me of watching the original Battlestar Galactica series TV show, which is not a bad thing at all.  There are large battle cruisers along with squadrons of smaller fighters provi ..read more

The writing of Erik Carter and Audible narrator Gary Bennett involving the “Silence Jones Action Thriller” series just keeps getting better and better over time.  Much like an aged wine or cheese, one sees that the latest release titled “In the dead of night”, is one of the best yet and we are on the eleventh book and counting.  If you like your action and adventure more on the gritty and messy side, I cannot recommend this series enough.  I have found that Erik Carter’s storytelling and writing style resonate with me, and add to this the exceptional voicing of Gary Bennett, and ..read more

Good Intentions Audiobook Review

Wow, things are only getting better and more exciting the farther we go into this series.  “Good Intentions” is the sixth audiobook in the Adrian Hell series authored by James P. Sumner while the Audible edition is narrated by Gary Bennett.  Both individuals resonate quite well with me when it comes to stories in the action thriller genre.  There is intrigue, mystery, plenty of fighting and even a man with a moral conscience whose profession is that of an assassin.  Could the series have been closed out during the previous audiobook?  Sure, but it would not have been l ..read more

Hayden’s World Volume 2 Audiobook Review

Hayden’s World volume 2 was a bit of a surprise for me.  I very much enjoyed the first volume and found the second to be level with or a bit higher than the first.  This is a pure science fiction audiobook, and you can eaisly tell that the author was greatly influenced by the classics during his childhood.  When the audiobook stories are complete, I have to say, do not skip the final chapter.  Here the author gives the listener insight into why he wrote the stories and his inspiration.  For me, chapters such as these bring value by helping me understand the author in a ..read more

“Apocalypse Grit” is the third installment in the “System Apocalypse” series of science fiction/litRPG genre of audiobooks.  The series continues to innovate and bring additional details, not only within the world itself, but the alien overloads as well.  The series is well crafted by Craig Hamilton and Tao Wong, and the audiobook narration is very well presented by Shamaan Casey; one of my favorite Audible narrators.  The story continues with the ever-increasing rank/level of our main character and his band of members.  As the series continues to expand, there are newer an ..read more

If you are in the search for a series of action thrillers, look no farther than the “Adrian Hell series”.  The series starts off strong, but the wonderful writing and narration keeps the excitement coming even into book number five.  The series is like a title wave that slowly grows into something that can devastate an entire city.  Yes, “A Necessary Kill” is the latest installment in the series and this one seems to pack a punch that the previous ones were not able to achieve.  If you have been a fan and listened to the audiobooks in order, you know it all leads up to the ..read more

Muted Audiobook Review

Erik Carter (author) and Gary Bennett (narrator) continue to deliver an action-packed and uniquely developed story even when we are now hearing the tenth audiobook in the series.  “Muted”, a Silence Jones Action Thriller, is not just another story that feels the same as all of the others. I must give Mr. Carter credit for his ability to make each book feel rather distinct while giving the listener of previous audiobooks in the series a sense of familiarity.  Silence continues to deal with his personal life (including Baxter the cat) while needing to balance a rather complex professio ..read more

I can only say the Mr. Carter and Mr. Bennett are writing and narrating thought the Silence Jones Action Thriller series in record time.  It seems like you just get one finished and the next one is right around the corner.  Thank you both for the great tales and voicing that has gone into each of nine audiobooks in the series thus far.  The newest edition to hit Audible is called “A Strangled Cry” and I can say, if you are into action or thrillers, these two who bring us Silence Jones do not miss a beat.  As I have said in a previous review, it feels very much like the TV s ..read more

“Faceless” is the fifth book in the “Tropical Adventures Series” of Audiobooks found on Audible.  The series of tropical adventures often whisks one away to wonderfully scenic locations in the Caribbean while also keeping the heart-pounding action and adventure front and center.  Yes, there are planes, car chases, and much more.  However, this fifth story in the series felt a bit less encompassing from the previous ones.  The story was there, the adventure was there, but it just did not stand up to the previous ones I have listened to.  It was good, but it also had a f ..read more

If you are looking for something that feels like a blending of the hit TV series 24 with aspects of action taken from a Rambo movie, you will enjoy the action and adventure contained in “Deadly Intent”, which is the fourth audiobook in the Adrian Hell series.  The series is brilliantly crafted by James P. Sumner and the audiobook’s narration was superbly performed by Gary Bennett.  This team continues to hit the ball out of the park when it comes to new episodes in the series, each one feeling like a new chapter of a hit TV series.  There is plenty of violence, loads of technolo ..read more
