Scheppach TS 2000 blade adjustment (fore/aft running out)

I have a Scheppach TS 2000 (table saw) Generally, I am very happy with it but the blade is running slightly out along its length ie it does not run exactly parallel to the fence. Ive stripped the saw down twice but can't see which screw/s I should be turning to adjust it. Also, I have to take the top off completely to get to where I think the adjustment screw/s is/are. Doesn't seem to me to be a clever design when you have to go to all this to adjust the saw blade. Can someone help me please... Read more ..read more

Hello all - I am new here and came across this forum searching for a way to build door frames and attach it to a stone wall. I have previously restored older doors (images for examples) but the doors already had a door frame and I could simply put the door back together. now, I have not built a door and door frame from start to finish and this is where I need some advice. The above image is where my door & door frame will go. My questions are: 1)... Read more ..read more

Q? Makita LS 1013 motor question

Was using it yesterday then suddenly it wouldn't start. OK today but not quite right. Kinda hesitant then it kicks in OK. Does this sound like it needs new brushes or or is it the motor just getting old and tired? If / when it happens again I'll rotate the blade some then see if that's enough to get it moving. Been thinking of changing it for something newer and quieter. Any suggestions? My thanks ..read more

Cookie Slice

My uncle asked me today if I could make/get a 'cookie' slice he wants for a cake stand. It needs to be about 50cm diameter which is much larger than I can put through the bandsaw! Does anyone know anywhere in Essex that would have such a thing. I can't imagine many lumber yards cut them as I don't expect they are much use to many people. Must be a pain to surface as well presumably have to be done on a router sled or similar ..read more

What's the best way to make mitred joins for keepsake box?

Hi, having just purchased a mitre saw I thought I'd make a small box this weekend with mitred corners. However this got me thinking what is the best way to cut accurate mitred joints? with the saw vertical but at a 45 degree mitre angle - with the timber face against the fence with the saw perpendicular to the fence but at a 45 degree bevel and the timber face on the bed of the saw or... use a table saw with a sled and the blade at 45 degrees I'd be intrigued to see what... Recommendations for iron-on Beech veneer 19mm

Hi, I'm looking to edge-band by 18mm plywood, which is veneered in beech. I'd like to edge band using real-wood beech veneer, 19mm wide (or I can live with 18mm). Ideally, i'd like it to be around 1mm (or more!) thick, but I know most are thinner than that, which I can live with if I have to. So many options online. Can someone please recommend a real-wood beech veneer edge band, that is (ideally) thicker than the usual 0.6mm? Thanks ..read more

Hello, has anyone worked with lilac before? I'm likely to end up with some between 1 and 4 inches diameter, I'm considering using it for handles, stool legs, that kind of thing. I assume it would need to be dried out for a good amount of time before use ..read more

Anti slip finish for decking

As the title suggests, I'm looking for anti slip decking stain. All I've been able to find is the Cuprinol range, which has a range of colours, all of them sh1tty, in my opinion at least. Anyone know of an alternative? Clear would be good and if it had sand instead of "Microbeads", even better ..read more
