I have been working as a psychotherapist for the past 15 years but would like to do something different. I also teach occasionally as an adjunct however do not see this as a main career due to the low pay and precarious working conditions. From a recent case: -Don't refer to yourself with a made-up title, especially one that is misleading about your licensure status (e.g., "Licensed Clinical Psychologist"). So, this popped up in my email recently and I was curious to get opinions here. While this is certainly not good for academia and will likely lead to fewer PhD programs and more PsyDs due to lack of funding, I think the rest of it is rather unsurprising and due to the field being out of touch with the needs of graduates and clinicians.
