From Miami to Denver: An Introvert's Journey

Hi Mouse again, Gameboy and I just came back from Wyoming and I have to say what a relaxing trip. It's about an 8 hour road trip from Denver, not too scenic of a drive until you're real close to the mountain range. We were amazed at how much space there is. I heard about it being quite spacious, yet I was still amazed. We would drive through these small towns that only had about 300 or so people living in them. I even saw one that only had 10! The first couple of nights we stayed at an AirBnB in Afton, it was about an hour drive from Jackson. It's a picturesque drive once you drive out of the ..read more

Hi Mouse here, It's been such a long time since I've last written a blog post. You probably thought I gave up on the blog. That wasn't the case, it's been on my mind for a while to get back and post something. The issue was that I started a new job and I hadn't traveled until recently. In July, I started a position with the Department of State, which entails working with the passport office. I can't get into too many details about it, but it's a lot better than my last job in the library. I'm quite grateful. Things are going well in Denver, yet I can't say that I can call this home. It's still ..read more

From Miami to Denver: An Introvert's Journey

Hello! This is Mouse. If you've been looking around recently at my site, you will notice that I have changed some things, especially the title of the blog. I decided to eschew the personal blog title and lean more into travel blog writing. It doesn't mean that I won't put in my two sense from time to time, but I find that now with things opening up and being new to Colorado; I have an itch for exploration. With that being said, this past weekend, Gameboy and I ventured back to Colorado Springs to check out the Manitou Cave dwellings. It's wedged between the Garden of the Gods and the quaint to ..read more

From Miami to Denver: An Introvert's Journey

Hello there! This is Mouse. It's such a strange and disturbing feeling knowing that someone out there knows and has been using your identity. At birth you are given a social security number that would identify you the rest of your life and when you're a grown up, you open up credit cards, you apply for loans and open a bank account. You're working and contributing to society and then one day you're told that someone has been impersonating you. The other day I found out that some terrible person had opened a Verizon account of three lines with three phones. I, of course, immediately called Veri ..read more

Hey, everyone! Mouse here. It's been hot these days here in Colorado. They weren't kidding about there being 300 days of sunshine; more sun than even the Sunshine State of Florida. It doesn't take long to be affected by the heat and to have a sunburn. That didn't stop us from going to Colorado Springs during the weekend to see the Garden of the Gods. All three of us went, even though Clovis wasn't too thrilled about the hour long ride. He kept popping his head between our seats and staring at us; wondering when we were going to stop. It's a scenic ride which varied from prairieland to mountain ..read more

Hello All! This is Mouse! Just came back from a trip to Detroit, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois. It felt great to finally go on vacation. I was looking forward to it for a long time, the best part is that it seemed to be a long trip; even though we were up there for only a week. Usually time flies by when you're having fun. Man, I hate that saying. Game boy and I toured Chicago for about five days. We checked off most of the attractions off of our must see list; like the Art Institute of Chicago, Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium. We also did the Writer's museum, which I enjoyed immensely. From Miami to Denver: An Introvert's Journey

Hi, Mouse here. The other weekend Game boy and I had an adventure and we took Clovis along. We drove to the Eldorado Canyon State Park in Eldorado Springs. It was quite a drive, but it was worth it and Clovis enjoyed the drive. Besides taking the expressway, we had to drive a good amount towards the mountains, not before passing some rolling hills and rustic homes. Eldorado Springs is probably one of the smallest towns I've ever visited thus far. Two things that stand out: they have a spring that you can bath in and they also bottle it up for consumption and they have hundreds of potholes. You ..read more

Hey Mouse here! Would you believe it's still snowing here? Winter sure doesn't want to leave this area. It seems like there's more snow now than in January and February. I was hoping to pull out my shorts and tank tops. Sure looks pretty when it's falling, though. I recently got my COVID vaccine and I was a bit scared of getting it. If you want to be scared out of your wits - read the news. The news does a bang up job of it. And I literally mean wits because at the end there was nothing to be afraid of. It didn't hurt at all. I wasn't afraid of the needle, but of the side effects. I did get fa ..read more

Hi, Mouse here. I know it's been quite some time since I've posted. Not much going on. I've put myself on a tight schedule, so that I can keep up with all of my projects. It gets tricky though because I use the internet and you know how distracting that can be. You see a headline that catches your eye, or you ask it a medical question (why is my skin extra scaly?) or online shopping. So I find myself snapping back to what I'm supposed to do every so often. As I'm writing this I have multiple windows up, each with a different stage of a project. It feels good to have a schedule, though. Another ..read more

Hi there. This is Mouse. I wrote this word down that represents who I am on this blog and I think about what it means and what labels are. This, of course, is not my name and it's only used for the purpose of this blog and social media. Why did I choose this name? Is it because it represents what introverts are? Mousey, shy individuals devoid of social skills? No, that's not what we are. I chose it because I wanted to debunk that myth by using it and talking about my personal life here. The other day I was glancing through the introvert blog site, Dear, Introvert. I noticed at the very bottom ..read more
