Went turkey hunting with my daughter Sunday evening and we didn't see or hear any birds but I did find my first sheds and stumbled upon a small patch of morels.
Made some elk steaks for dinner and a morel risotto with a side of asparagus. Came out pretty damn good. Never made a risotto before ..read more

Worked all night and was home at 4:30am, dog had a vet appointment at 8am so not much sleep was had, dropped the pup off and was home by 9:30 and decided to Hit the hills. After a good phone call to clear some air and Karen by my side, I was feeling good. I was walking In by 11am, Got to my perch and Hit the bugle tube for the shock gobble, nothing…. I highly recommend setting up a bow fishing bow it is one of the funnest things I have done in a while. I have between wanting to get into bow fishing so I took one of my old bows and set it up for less than $300 with parts. I bought off Amazon. Don't know much about them but thinking I want to go that route. Have some stuff going on at work where I may need to spent some time in one this summer so I'm thinking of getting one to fit the bill for both hunting and work. I get a smoking deal on the Big Agnes ones but I'm sure there are more options out there. Was thinking of something that would give me an a good ultralight set up for two guys and gear or add the insert and have it really Gucci for just myself. Thoughts/ Suggestions ..read more

Hello all! This will be my first year deer hunting. I am a SoCal resident (Orange County at the moment) and was looking some some help in advice for d11.
I’ve been on multiple hikes through the Glendora and Azusa area and gotten into some burns in the San Gabriels near falling springs. I’ve seen a couple doe but nothing I can really pattern. I set one camera in the Glendora area and one in the cedar springs and falling springs areas.
