Does anyone have tips for combining large base rock and branches to make them look good together?
I want to redo my scape to add more branches. Right now it is mostly base rock & some arches. I don't like the scape looking like a pile of rocks. I feel the branches will help with flow, fish hiding spots, & coral placement & isolation.
From a visual design perspective, what's going to look good? I'm deliberately not using the word natural, but I want the pieces to look congruent.

Hello all, I have searched for this topic and have kinda come up empty thus far. Anyhow, I have a 20 gallon AIO cube, that currently has some live rock that ,frankly, is not attractive. I managed to put together a new aquascape with dry Marcorock. I am currently in the stages of cycling it in a brute trash can with bottled bacteria, ammonia, and water/ceramic media from my established tank. My established tank has 2 bags of ceramic media and 20 lbs of sand in it currently, is doing a...

I've had my 20g AOI up and running for ~10mos now. It is very much a low tech, what ever grows or hitchhikes in stays type of set up. Which got me thinking about changing up my scape and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Current Scape
What I am thinking
I have some additional pieces of cured reefrock and some pieces of really old dead coral that I have been soaking in RO/DI (changed out ever couple of weeks) for ~2 months. The thought is I would create an...

Hey just wanted to share a quick video of using nyos black epoxy putty on my ledge scape. This is my first attempt at this type scape and only my second scape. This build has ten separate rocks combined to make the ledge. It’s over 29” long. I really like how the nyos blends with my black colored reef rock ..read more

Hi yall, just looking for some aquascaping thoughts or tips. I have a 20g AIO. My pizza box is the exact tank dimensions with the black line at the back being the wall. Received 20lbs of marcorock to play with, but it came as 6 big pieces. Should I break them up with a hammer to create a more thin structure with more bridges/swim throughs and glue it together? Even to use one of the rocks as an island takes up a lot of the real estate...

Hello everyone! After taking a break from reefing about 15 years ago, I've recently dived back in. I've been collecting equipment for my tank and it's finally been set up and running for a month now. I'd love to share a picture of my tank's aquascape and hear your honest, constructive opinions. What changes or improvements would you suggest ..read more
