I recently purchased Metisse Cotton Sound Isolation, because it said in the specifications it provides a 46dB sound reduction. Now I do notice a reduction in sound volume, but not what I hoped for. Do you guys have experience with this material? What are the best options for a (mobile) wall to greatly reduce voices?

Hi! I was wondering if it'd be possible to soundproof my room to some extent?
I live in a tailer with my parents, and you can hear EVERYTHING at any point in the trailer. And it's not like I'm yelling or talking loudly or anything, I talk with my friends on games and always use a mic so I talk pretty quiet. And yet I can still be heard from the kitchen, which is 90% of the trailer...
I just want a bit more privacy. I know it's most likely impossible to soundproof 100%, but I need literally anything. I looked into those foam squares for the walls, but when I did a little more research, they sa ..read more

I have an old brick chimney that I think is leaking sound out and my neighbors can hear every conversation in my living room. What can I do to reduce the likelihood of them hearing my conversation in the living room?

Recently moved studios and there is noise coming through my ceiling from a rehearsal room across the corridor. I discovered after moving that there is one large shared void above both studios where the sound is rattling around and coming down through my ceiling. I have now covered my ceiling with rw3 Rockwool in between the joists and wondering what my next move is. Would it be better to keep going with the area above my studio or treat the source of the sound above the other studio?

I'm building a "sound proof" media room, it will be a double walled structure as is recommended but I have to maintain an air intake for my forced air heating as well as a heat/AC outlet. I've read a few things about baffles but Im wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge of how effective running a flex pipe with insulation around it will be at knocking down the sound transmission there. Any advice is welcomed. I have bare studs/joist cavities to work with so at least I don't have issue installing whatever I need. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to figure out good solutions to insulate the bedroom area of a travel trailer so I can sleep better in a noisy environment. It doesn't need to be pretty but it does need to be relatively portable as I'll be packing all of the stuff into my car before going TO the trailer which is currently in another location. (So no giant rigid panels or anything.)
I know I won't be able to do much, but I'm wondering what could be used to help reduce external sound. Do any of those sound-dampening curtains work to the point where they're worth the effort and expense? I could basically rig up somet ..read more

I've got a noisy boiler which can be heard throughout the house. Would soundproofing the cupboard help?

Hello, I live in a "busy" (massive understatement) area in Barcelona with a lot of street noise at night. I have this old double door leading to a tiny balcony where the noise is coming from. I am renting so massive construction projects are not possible. I did some research and some ideas were polycarbonate sheets, I think I saw glass wool mentioned as well. The noise during the day is basically non-existent, just at night so even some non permanent solutions would do. Any ideas?
Thanks!
