Since joining what was then the Canadian International Development Agency in 2005, Caroline Delany has held many roles in international development and foreign policy, particularly in her postings to South Asia and Africa. Kirsten Hillman was appointed as the first female Ambassador to the United States in Washington, D.C., in March 2020. She served as assistant deputy minister of the Trade Agreements and Negotiations Branch at Global Affairs Canada, overseeing all of Canada’s trade policy and trade negotiations.
