My hunting partner and I are looking into POW for a deer hunt. With the 1 deer limit now on Kodiak, area 8 is no longer of interest to us as we would like to get the most for our dollar. My oldest is off to a great start this year! He chalked up this decent forky on opening weekend while hunting with my ol' man and his cast of characters at their club. This is his third Blacktail in three years and he is definitely coming into his own. He spotted this guy bedded under a poison oak/chamise patch from his seat on the dog box as they were headed up the hill on Sunday to start the hunt. Please don't show this to any hardcore Mule deer hunters. Let's keep this to ourselves. It's taken me about 2 years but I finally talked a friend into letting me take some pictures of some of the better bucks he's taken over the years. We had to dig them out of the rafters in his garage. I think you'll agree it was worth the effort. These are all blacktails taken on public land in California, and not blacktail/muley cross.
