For guys who rut hunt based solely on terrain in areas with little to no sign, is it a gut feeling that leads you to picking a tree? For nother mi i prefer pre rut.... Theres too many areas that they can go with a doe you just cant chase.... But pre rut they are going bonkers... Rut i prefer souther Michigan where the deer numbers are higher.... I get better responses from rattling and grunting.... I have a property i designated my rut hunting area... For the first time in 20 something years, I didn't kill any big bucks or deer for that matter. Primarily, because I didn't bowhunt last year, at least for deer anyways. Gun hunted a fair amount, passing up several younger bucks. I did however kill 3 big bucks the year before. Statistics: Posted by Chad Gus 715 — Mon Apr 22, 2024 9:54 pm ..read more

1 buck being my biggest so far! Found another and let my buddy hunt the spot, he killed that giant (way bigger than mine). Then a blown opportunity on another big one late season. Statistics: Posted by BarefootDave — Mon Apr 22, 2024 5:40 pm ..read more
