When I was asked these 4 questions about the pros and cons of running a remote team as a digital agency owner, here’s what i had to say.
Best thing about running a remote team
Hands down, getting the right talent and fit for the team onboard. My previous agency was built around having local people all working from our brick and mortar address in the city. This meant that we simply couldn’t always get the right people, simply because of geographical restrictions.
The other problem with local talent is that some digital agencies are always on the lookout to poach your best digital marketers ..read more

As a local business, one of the most important things you need is social proof – something that shows potential clients that you’re the right company to work with. Google Reviews (part of the Google My Business listing) are a great way to highlight the quality of your work in the blink of an eye!
I’m sure you’ve seen the 5 star () reviews in the Google search results when you’re looking for a local service.
Some companies seem to have hundreds of them, others might have none. The reason? The company with no reviews probably doesn’t ask their clients and customers for a review.
It used to a bit ..read more

Facebook Ads Business Manager can throw a whole bunch of numbers your way, but which ones actually matter to the success of your Facebook Ads Campaign? Let’s dive into the ones that matter most to your bottom line.
The most important rule of Facebook Ads is to make sure your ads are profitable.
Profitability, however, doesn’t always mean an immediate return on your ad spend (ROAS) because not everyone will convert into a paying client on the spot. You need to know what your customer’s lifetime value (LTV) is.
For example: If you are selling a monthly SEO Service, paying clients will stick ar ..read more

A few weeks ago we were asked by an online publication what a CRM was, how it’s different from marketing automation, why businesses should use it and how it’s any different from using traditional tools to follow up with leads. Here are our answers.
1. What are the benefits of CRM?
With a CRM you have incredible and actionable prospect information at your fingertips. If you get the right type of CRM, you get a sophisticated system that will help you track your prospects movements. For example, you’ll be able to see which pages on your website they’re visiting, indicati ..read more

First things first, if you do not have a Google My Business listing yet – go create your free listing right here. You don’t even need a website to get this done. Stop reading and do this now – come back when you’re done!
Well done! You now have a Google My Business (GMB) listing for your business. It’ll take a little while to get it verified with Google as they send out a postcard with a code. Make sure that you tell whoever gets the mail in the morning at the office that it’s not spam mail and they should not throw it out with the rest of the junk mail! And be patient, don’t request a new one ..read more

A reasonable quote will differ for almost any business, depending on what they stand to gain. Where a lot of agencies and/or freelancers are quoting monthly fees – I think it is better to look at the actual outcome and goals that you as a business owner is trying to achieve.
First of all – increasing visitors or traffic does not mean an increase in sales. So a better measuring point would be to increase conversion percentages per channel for example. So let’s say you’re getting 50 visitors per day or 1500 per month through organic traffic, and 2% of those turn (30) into enquires, o ..read more

If you can’t measure it, you’ll have a hard time improving it. What are you trying to achieve?
This is a simple question that often seems to be too hard to answer. Most businesses and entrepreneurs I have worked with in the last 15 year never really know what to say, except: More leads. More sales. More traffic. I’ve only ever had a handful of clients who knew exactly how much more they wanted and needed — because they had set their goals and targets.
If you do not know how much you’re currently generating form your online presence, you’ll never know how much you need to get what you want. If ..read more
