Sustainability IS the buzzword these days. From Kim Kardashian partnering with Beyond Meat, a plant-based vegan meat, to financing commercials looking to invest in businesses incorporating sustainability into their business strategies, sustainable fashion at New York and Paris Fashion Week, to Goop collaborating with Ecoalf on a new collection. The Atlantic posted an article last week with the title “The Climate Economy is About to Explode”. It’s EVERYWHERE. When it comes to fashion, a topic Ad Vitam hasn’t covered in the past but will from now on, there is a lot of noise and promise from bra ..read more

Earth Day, April 22nd, is around the corner and all environmental circles have been talking, posting, gathering for this event all months. I even got emails from people like Tony Robbins and his foundation, who you wouldn't necessarily consider an outspoken environmentalist, about donating and getting involved with trees.org to learn more about sustainable systems. As fantastic as all of this is, it's not nearly enough and just like Thanksgiving, it takes more than one day or one month per year to be grateful, engaged, to love, care, etc. I was in a room on Clubhouse last Friday where eco bra ..read more

By our guest writer Lena Milton. Were you as excited as a child about flying cars as I was? Thinking about a future in which cartoons and science fiction can become a reality is always a thing of wonder. And then, one day, you wake up in smog-filled Los Angeles or Beijing, and wonder if an environmentally friendly world is even possible. Contemplating a future in which our most ambitious sci-fi fantasies coexist with sustainable transportation is an equation with many variables that we must solve. Pinpointing all problem areas and implementing appropriate alternatives will lead to a gradual ..read more

This blog post is from our guest writer Lena Milton. In this day and age, it’s almost impossible to live without a laptop. Whether it be for work or leisure, our computers are an essential part of our day-to-day lives. But our laptops come with a hidden cost (beyond the excruciating prices we pay for them!). Laptops are built with complex chemicals that give us the incredibly advanced technology we need to keep up with the modern world. However, these chemicals pose major risks to ourselves and our environments, and as personal computers become more and more common, these risks increase. What ..read more

Article originally published on ,Medium. “The most alarming of all man’s assaults upon the environment is the contamination of air, earth, rivers, and sea with dangerous and even lethal materials.” — Rachel Carson, Silent Spring (1962) Since the beginning of my sustainable living journey, I have understood that the level of unregulated chemical pollution in our environment is staggering and poses a severe threat to human health. It became the focus on my blog because there wasn’t much public awareness about it. It seemed just as serious, or even more so, than climate change, which can still b ..read more

Today I would like to share a Rich Roll podcast episode with Paul Hawken: Ending The Climate Crisis In One Generation. He founded Erewhon Markets, Smith & Hawken and is one of the leading voice in the environmental movement. He is also a New York Times bestseller and his new book "Ending The Climate Crisis In One Generation" is out now. What I love about this episode is that it's in fact optimistic and offers a call to action that incorporates climate, biodiversity, justice, equity and human dignity to lead us into a more sustainable and symbiotic relationship with this beautiful planet w ..read more

What Are The Solutions For A Broken Recycling System?

One of my prime rules for sustainable living and conscious consumption is to first use up what you have before buying anything new. It's about reducing as much waste as possible and then to dispose of it properly, ideally recycled and then reused again. Even if you are the most committed recycler and you put everything neat, clean and tidy in your recycling bin, chances are high that most of it ends up in a landfill after all. According to a new study of the Environmental Working Group less than 10% actually gets recycled. What's the Problem? Largely, up until 2018, China handled nearly half ..read more
