It is not that I lack training and I do want to focus on the arts I am doing, mainly karate, but I was thinking getting a bit more experience on the ground to round up my skills would be nice. And everyone keep talking about BJJ so I am kind of... Thinking about trying BJJ ..read more

Other than trying to not get tapped I mean What is your approach to your grappling game, specifically guard play. What is your gameplan (I don’t mean do you break your game down to numerous attacking systems with 500 principles for each, ill leave that to Danaher) but what is your approach to guard, half guard, your approach to open guard seated and standing? How does your approach differ from Gi to No GI? For me my training is mainly no gi (with some gi work) and as such I look for... What is your approach to BJJ/grappling ..read more

I was wondering if anyone experienced in this can offer some advice on strengthening yourself up so this does not hurt so much. Anytime someone does even a minor knee on belly/knee on ribage I am in pain for days/weeks afterwards. I don't really notice this happen with other people so I am thinking there maybe something they are doing to mean they can better brush this off? Would push ups be the thing to do, or is there anything better ..read more

I train for meditative purposes. I have been researching for years, where is a good place to train BJJ. I grew up in Los Angeles so I decided I will have to move to Los Angeles to train BJJ. I know LA and they have everything there. I want to train Judo concurrently. I know how to lock someone while crouching but my style doesn't have prone fighting. My Silat is a mixture of Barak Tuchu/Cimande/Other Styles. I also practice Escrima and Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi. I am 45 YO and too... I train Silat and think about training BJJ ..read more
