Update on Hot Tub build issue 76.
Bethesda » Fallout Series

After digging deeper in to why I couldn't build a hot tub in my shelter, I've found the answer. The hot tub shares the same build limit as the NW Ring of Fire Pit and the Communal Fire Pit. All three items count as the same thing simultaneously, and the limit is 2 in total. Which is still wonky and needs fixing, but at least now you know. To everyone who helped in my previous post, thanks for steering me in the right direction ..read more

For all our long discussions...

@jt4gov said: We haven't chatted in a while, but will certainly miss the discussions with you and LeBurns. Few enough people I remember from the old forums still around. Discord sucks and I'm not a huge fan of Reddit, but what can you do.   Yeah it's been nice, might not always agree but been some great discussions. Shame to lose it. I use Discord for another game, but even with it being a tiny series compared to Bethesdas titles active sections can get posts buried really quickly. It's fine for short chats but real discussions and posting of screenshots...nope. Reddit is for me ..read more

Remaster of Fallout 1, 2 & Tactics

@Falloutwander said: My guess they thought it was more on the Brotherhood of Steel and than the Fallout vault guy/gal leaving the vault & that's true. So they played it for a short period of time like few minutes or so & shelved it.   Or perhaps it's because roleplayers wanted a roleplaying game, not a strategy game.   New approaches are fine, but if a developer deviates too radically from the product that fans want and expect, the developer should be prepared to face a negative reaction ..read more

Alternate Power Armors in the future
Bethesda » Fallout Series
by roguethief

With Fallout 76 we have a large selection of Power Armors: Raider, Excavator, T-45, T-50, T-51, T-65, X-01, Ultracite, even Strangler Heart is a separate type. We also can infer from the Excavator set that the technological knowledge for the frames and such were available to non-military firms, enough of it anyways to build something that approximates military-style power armor. So, I am wondering, what other types of non-military power armors could/may have been developed? 2 Examples: PCC-V2, Riot Control (Personnel Conflict Control) Power Armor. Lighter weight than typical Power Armor ..read more

Idea for Future Fallout DLC - Two Words - Logan's Run

@Vegna said: Pretty much already seen that with how the Institute handles synths that leave. And the weapon would likely be covered by their license and doesn't seem to fit the Fallout setting.  The license would likely be needed for the entirety of the Logan's Run content if that's the direction without variance, considering it's already in an alternate universe.  And I just don't have the same sympathy for a synth's death that I do for humans.  Who mourns for a toaster when it breaks?  This idea would likely be more useful in a future Fallout installment not any of the ex ..read more

Mouse and Keyboard on Consoles
Bethesda » Fallout Series
by ReneeGade

Right, console commands do not always = cheating. They can also be used to make the game much more challenging. Even if somebody cheats their game though, who is anybody else to judge? On topic:: I totally get what you're asking, @RissmillerTV. In Fallout 3 I have the option of using my Xbox controller or switching to mouse + keys. Oddly I can't have both, which means to use the console (especially for tfc2 and tm, so I can get some cool screenshots) I have to switch from controller to mouse and keys. Nothing is more clunky and cantankerous, especially right in the middle of a combat ..read more

" and you just killed the entire settlement and camp building communities which it the single reason a lot of people actually play. If anything there should be LESS restrictions on building." I very much disagree with the statement that's the "single reason a lot of people actually play" Fallout 3 was popular and new vegas was popular and fallout 4 was popular. Fallout 4 was not popular simply for being a city builder game. Especially since it does that q ..read more

Fallout Tabletop RPG

@SprogRokatansky said: Usually its the other way around: you start as a table top back in the day, then someone eventually makes a video game of it. Is this a first where a video game makes a table top RPG? Full circle.  The official Fallout tabletop RPG launches tomorrow  Really would have been funny if it had been a GURPS, since that what was supposed to be the rule base of Fallout 1.  They started to build the game with GURPS rules, but midway through they decided to diverge from it quite a bit. It would be a bit of a stretch, however, to say Fallout didn't begin originally a ..read more

Should The Next Fallout Game Be Set In Arkansas?
Bethesda » Fallout Series
by Jaramr

The entire American south is basically empty as far as lore goes, meaning a Fallout game set in the area can do whatever it wants. Everyone wants the region that actually live in to be in a Fallout game of course, nobody would truly say they wouldn't want to play a Fallout set in their home town. One of the Fallout Strategy mods I play has a faction based out of Atlanta based around the real world coca cola company HQ being there with some sort of Nuka Cola warlord state that has its entire culture based around the old world soft drink. Th ..read more
