One thing I really like about Fallout as a franchise it's villains tend to be on the more intelligent side than is typical in video games. It also makes the point that just because they're genius masterminds, they're not necessarily RIGHT. Indeed, pointing out where their logic is askew is one of the hearts of what makes the world work. 1. Hey Folks, So I am trying to wrap up Fallout New Vegas with the World of Pain mod, and it seems I got hung up with getting into the Arena. I've managed to wipe out just about all the Tech Raiders thus far, but it seems there is a key to this door. I checked the guide on Steam but that is incomplete at best and never quite gets to this point. I think there might be 3 keys or do I need to be in a quest to get the door open? In Fallout: New Vegas, the four DLC expansions take the Courier on pretty hefty detours from the base story. The first half of Fallout: New Vegas as I see it, the Courier is after Benny for answers and revenge with the latter half after the confrontation being sucked into the political sphere when it comes to the factions vying for the Mojave. When would the Courier genuinely have time to willingly leave the Mojave for Utah or the Divide? And as for the Sierra Madre and Big MT, while you do... As I'm going through Fallout 1, I realized I haven't played several of the Fallout games in a long time. 1: Currently playing right now 2: Around two years ago Tactics: 2016 Bos: Never played, but I do own a copy. 3: 2015 New Vegas: 2020. Want to play again soon, but can't be bothered to mod it. 4: 2016. Finished the game once, never returned. 76: During the latest steam-free weekend event, so late 2023. Didn't enjoy it at all. Just thought I'd share that: * It's set in Tampa, Florida * It's set 30 years after the apocalypse. * It has Hubologists due to the presence of Scientology in the RL version. They have inexplicable access to Zetan technology. * The Enclave was supposed to evacuate from Cape Canaveral to their moon base but a revolt by the US military prevented it, thus screwing over their entire plan to nuke the world then settle Mars. * Deathclaws don't exist in Florida but Gatorclaws are everywhere.... Since TTW is such a popular mod these days, and AI generated voicework is becoming more common, I'm wondering why there isn't a mod to allow companions from the two wastelands to comment on locations or situations from the alternate worldspace. Like Arcade making a comment about Megaton's living conditions, or the Enclave when they show up, or Sergeant RL-3 remarking about House's Securitrons in The Strip or Freeside, or the Boomers when they ask the Courier to wipe out the ants. The most controversial part of the show aside from the destruction of Shady Sands is the revelation that Vault-Tec (either acting as a proxy of the Enclave or the predecessor to the Enclave) was responsible for starting the Great War or were planning on doing so. I'm inclined to agree with Tim Cain that he thinks Vault-Tec didn't drop the bombs themselves but, like so many of their other operations ended up screwing the pooch.
