I basically received constructive feedback from my coteacher, information on a child who has different needs (I work with this child,) and will be receiving $18 an hour as opposed to $17 starting in June (which, considering that I turned nineteen about two-ish weeks ago, isn’t bad by any means imo!) I had been very nervous about it, so I’m glad it all worked out.
I have about $11000 saved from my job which started July 31st (I was a sub until January,) and am just glad to be saving money!

So what do you guys think? I worked at a job for 10 years, asked for a large raise, gave me half of what I asked, and quit after a month after the raise because of that and my main boss quit too. Changed jobs immediately for the pay I was looking for, approximately 20% of my original salary. Now it’s been 8 months and my former boss is messaging me every so often since I quit to come back. Wants me to have lunch with him and stuff. Should I even go for lunch to see what he has to offer? I don’t think he could match it honestly.
Pros if I go back: More holidays and time off maybe More money ma ..read more

so i’ve applied to over 80 jobs in the last 3 weeks. i am finishing finals at some companies. and my number 2 on my list job came back as a no after what i thought was a good 7 hour on site interview. i have wrapped up interviews at number 1, 3 and 4 and have an offer for number 5 on my list. and another 10 companies to go through various stages from finals to early interviews. i’m getting positive feedback but nothing converting to an offer yet aside of the one.
just posting to vent. how do others deal with this.

Have you ever been through an application process where not all of the interviews for the position went super well — not awful, but not feeling like you nailed it across the boards — and you got an offer anyway? I'd love to hear about it, could use the uplift lol.

Outside of Blind and Fishbowl, what are some other resources and strategies to network and request referrals to apply at large companies?
I am a victim of revenge porn and cyber bullying where my full name was used. I am very limited in the information I list on my LI profile due to past trauma.
TIA ??

I hate my new job. I was laid off from a remote job that I absolutely loved. Considering this horrible job market, I took the first job there was offered to me after a month. It’s an 11k pay cut and it’s fully in office.
I’m not used to working with micromanagers monitoring me as I sit in front of a computer for 8 hours anymore. Aside from that, I’m not enjoying the work. It’s boring and there hasn’t been a training process so I’ve been launched into all of these meetings and projects without a clue as to what is going on.
I’m still applying to other places while I collect a paycheck from thi ..read more

So I got an email about two weeks ago from a job I applied to (my dream job) that they would be scheduling interviews in the coming weeks and to keep an eye on your email. I still haven’t heard anything but it’s a state government so I assume things take longer.
Should I send a follow up email to reiterate my interest/see where they’re at with scheduling interviews? Or should I just wait it out? I don’t want to seem desperate but when I say this is my dream job this is literally what I want to do with my life.
Opinions and advice?
