Here we are for Day 7 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Some of these books will be books that are part of my collection that I have found useful through the years, while others are books I come across in the library. My 7th book of this series that I’m recommending is one by Taylor Mathis, who used to blog and be a food photographer. When updating this post, I couldn’t find what he’s up to these days. Anyway, I used to follow him before this book was even written. His food photography is absolutely amazing. If I only had enoug ..read more

Here we are for another Personal History Challenge Journaling post! What was my childhood home and neighborhood like? My grandparents house, although it was built in the 1940’s, was stuck in the 60s/70s with the shag carpet and large gaudy chandeliers. I loved it though. I felt safe and comfy there. My room was down the hallway in the back corner of the house on the left. Here I am before this actually became my room, when I was just a baby and would go visit. A few months later My favorite spot was in the front yard on the porch swing. We lived on the corner and the street on the side was a ..read more

Here we are for Day 6 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Today I’m sharing a book I found in the library called The Moosewood Cookbook. Although, the cover is plain when I flipped through the pages I was totally intrigued. I loved the handwritten look of everything from the recipes to the crafty little drawings. It’s another book based off a restaurant. The Moosewood Restaurant is located in Ithaca, New York. Mollie Katzen is the editor and illustrator for the book. She was a cook at Moosewood for 4 and half years. Here’s the 1 ..read more

Here we are for Day 5 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. I’d love to hear what your favorite cookbook is? Happy Tuesday, everyone! Hope everyone is having a lovely week so far. Today the cookbook I’m sharing is a perfect one to get those kids in the kitchen with you. American Grub – Eats for Kids from All Fifty States is a book that I used back when I used to teach. It was a family homework activity, where I would “force” parents to get in the kitchen with the kids. During our “50 States” unit, I would share this book with my s ..read more

Here we are for Day 4 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Some of these books will be books that are part of my collection that I have found useful through the years, while others are books I come across in the library. When I started researching for this 31 days project, I knew I wanted a good Mexican cookbook. I found Rick Bayless’s cookbook called Authentic Mexican: Regional Cooking from the Heart of Mexico. This book covers all areas of Mexican food and while it does that many of the recipes are a little in depth. I think any ..read more

I write privately in a journal app called Day One. They have a lot of series that you can join in and add to your journal, which I think are a lot of fun. Gives me something else to write about besides the normal day to day happenings. I decided since I’m going to be out of commission for bit that I would share some of those entries here and schedule them now, which I’m recovering for surgery. This most recent challenge is about your Personal History. What are my earliest childhood memories? I’m not sure which are actual memories or memories I remember from photos, so I’ve been really trying t ..read more

If you missed my first couple of posts from this series, I’m moving these posts over from old blog, with an updated title photo and links as I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. I did all this back in March so that my blog wouldn’t go dark during this time. Enjoy! The cookbook for today is one I got the other day for my birthday; The Southern Slow Cooker Bible: 365 Easy and Delicious Down-Home Recipes by Tammy Algood. My mouth was just a watering, last night as I read this book. I wanted to run in the kitchen and start making all these recipes. Here’s the Table of Content as well as the bac ..read more

Today I’m sharing another cookbook post from my old blog. Today is my shoulder surgery, so I humbly ask for thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Hope you enjoy today’s post! For today’s cookbook I’m sharing with you one of my good old stand-byes: Selections from Better Homes and Garden New Cook Book. A cookbook that has made life’s journey with me since I’ve lived in Auburn. My Grandparents loved to send me care packages when I was a student living in the dorms at Texas Tech. That didn’t change when I moved to Auburn either. What changed was that I was living in an apartment and was exp ..read more

+ Last week, I spent several days getting most of my seedlings planted out. I up-potted my peppers, but did not plant them outside yet. I’ll have to get someone to help me plant those out when they get bigger. + Kayleigh…just because + Alex and the kitchen crew took a picture with Auburn University’s football coach the night before the spring game (A Day) last Friday night. + Friday, I went with Rob to the baseball game vs Tennessee. I went to the game we won. So that was exciting! The post 2024::Mar 31-Apr 6 appeared first on A Camera and A Cookbook ..read more
