I keep reading elsewhere on this site that artificial sweeteners are a complete No-no and I’m wondering why? I get the impression that they raise the HbA1c. Is this right and if so what other damage do they do? Does this apply to all sweeteners or just the Canderel type ..read more

Big big oops. Thought to reheat a small amount of rice in a stir fry having cooked and cooled it earlier…but not for long enough apparently. Went back to re read info about resistant starch. It seems it needs chilled for 12 hours not 1 hour.
Hoping my glucose comes down as fast as it went up ..read more

Hello!
Obviously keto and low carb diets are very low in carbs and glucose and I am not sure what are their implications on the gut microbiota.
Do you have any knowledge or experience on taking prebiotic supplements during keto?
Do they help? Are they necessary? Are they useless? Can they harm?
Thanks ..read more

I just wondered if anyone could suggest a Dark Chocolate that isn’t so bitter.
I did used to treat myself to the Lindt 65% Cocoa milk chocolate but it’s not been available for a while and I’ve been buying various bars of Dark Chocolate to try and replace but they all taste really strong and bitter.
I even resorted to melting the dark chocolate and trying to add some powdered sweetener to it, it wasn’t a great experiment!! lol ..read more
