Hi
So I’ve read the body has about 2,000 calories of glycogen stores available at any time. Rather than waiting a day for that to be depleted at the start of a fast, couldn’t you just do a (very steady) long run (10 miles) to deplete them?
Maybe this isn’t optimal - but is it possible / are there merits to it?
I’m looking into doing short (36-60 hr) fasts and am also running regularly, but cannot run in a fully fasted state- it just doesn’t work. So running at the start feels like a good way to kill two birds with one stone!
Thanks

I’m on day 4 of my water fast and get light headed every time I get up too quickly. Is there anyway to get rid of that or is it something you just gotta deal with?

I have been attempting an extended fast for the last 2 months, or so. Extended for me is anything beyond 48 hours. I have no problems with single day fasting, but it's difficult mentally for me to get over the hunger on day 2. A lot of people here say that day 3 is worse and that seems like a mountain for me to push through.
So far, I have never really planned my attempts to fast longer. This time I'm doing it differently. So for the last 4 days I have been animal-based. Whole single ingredient foods. A lot of fatty meat, eggs, olive oil, hard cheese, kimchi, sauerkraut, and small amounts of ..read more

I kind of have experience fasting. I have fasted many times from 3 days to 7. I always felt bad and tired while I fast even when I take properly electrolytes and I always just pushed through it, because I thought I was being weak minded. Also, I do not feel much different when I eat. I still feel tired, etc, just less. On my last 3 days fast I decided to test my blood sugar with this at home equipment my diabetic mother in law has, and it turned out my glucose was very low, at 2.0 mmol/L. I decided to stop my fast then and eat a keto meal. At morning, my glucose was back to normal. So, I deci ..read more

I had a colonoscopy earlier this week and decided to start fasting earlier than instructed. And I did it!! (I usually IF around 20 hours max)
Now I want to try it again, starting Sunday again. If anyone wants to share tips feel free but mostly I'm just celebrating knowing I can and hoping to do it again without the medical "necessity" pushing me.

I'm content with my bodyweight. The only reasons I'm fasting are for other benefits like mental clarity, autophagy, better skin. But I've lost almost 6 kgs/13 lbs in the past month. I've been refeeding well. But I'm still losing weight. Although i think I've maintained the same muscle mass with weight training, I look skinnier. Any advice?

It's all in the title. If anyone can give me any idea on what to expect, the dangers, and truly what do need to do in order to not faint or just to make it through the seven days?

Weightlifting 3-4 days a week Walking 10+ km a day
Anyone else starting a fast? Any nice groups to discuss with?
