This week's maker review centers around a popular brand that makes a variety of keto and low-carb food items; Birch Benders. I take a look at their pancakes and waffle mixes, snack cups as well as their freezer section ready to eat waffles. Birch Benders has a huge win in the convenience department but not all their products are slam dunks.

Back at the end of October I dropped a list for my top 5 favorite products for 2020. This week I'm doing the exact opposite and letting you in on the worst products I came across this year. Of course all of this is my own personal opinion and I don't blame you if you love these low-carb options. I jump in on the multitude of reasons why I (personally) don't enjoy these food options.

In the second part of what will likely be a 4 parter, I continue to tackle the multitude of options offered from the maker of High Key. This week I dive into a bunch of additional cookie options that were not covered in my initial product review on cookies, their lemon cake and muffin mix as well as their honey nut cereal. While I'm not a huge fan of their cookies I must say High Key is blazing a pretty hard trail for any other low-carb maker to follow.

A brief overview of what I eat at a very top level on a typical day. Focus is on high fat, low carb food and drink items. What types of foods should you be zeroing in on for the bulk of your daily intake? What should you consider consuming for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Should you look at total or net carbs? How many carbs should you consider consuming on a daily basis? All these questions are explored!

In this week's product review spotlight I take a look at some snack bars options from the maker's Keto Krisp, Stoka and Munk Pack. There seem to be a few types of textures that are most popular; the traditional granola, the thicker and crispy variety, and the smoother and light/airy types. Each of the makers discussed in this episode fit one of these categories. I also cover a couple others real quick to stay away from. My synopsis so far is that just like cookies there aren't a ton of great options to choose from but there are a couple winners you need to check out!

This week I revisit a product review I did waaaay back in Ep. 2, sodas! While natural sparkling waters are exploding in the mareketplace there's not as much love that's been given to the natural soda line. I spotlight one maker in particular in this episode and it's the entire Blue Sky Zero line. I also cover a few more offerings from Zevia, the powerhouse in this space.
