Split into two states, Florida and Mississippi, we inadvertently bookended 2019 at the two different sections of Gulf Islands National Seashore, the largest seashore in the National Park Service. Canaveral National Seashore may be the only place on Earth where rocket ships, alligators, and nude beaches all share the same turf. Needless to say, this place was teeming with surprises when we visited in October 2019.
