(2 of 3 in real life online dating journeys----from this week!) This article is devoted to current clients’ dating experiences online---and today is the second in a series of 3---very different than yesterday's article. Ok, I get asked constantly, “Can long distance work?”. My initial off the cuff answer is why even go here? Getting to know someone is a journey in of itself---then you throw long distance into the mix? Frequently it comes up with a client living, say in Boston, and they are going to Naples, FL for 2 weeks. Can I date there? Yes, you could---but no one really wants to meet you ..read more

The next 3 articles are devoted to current clients’ dating experiences online---and are they all magical? Heck, no. Did they get results and find someone? Yep, they did…. some quickly, some took a bit of time. And, let’s talk about lessons learned and why they had success. Alyssa, 62, Laguna Beach, CA: Owner of Real Estate Company* (*For the 3 clients, all gave me their permission; I just agreed to change their name and location. The remainder is accurate!). Alyssa met many people ..read more

No one is perfect…and believe me, we all make mistakes on dates, right? Last week as a dating coach I was coaching a lovely Ilene 59-year-old woman in NYC and she was talking about her 60th birthday coming up next week. She’s been on 4 dates with Michael, having fun, after the first date all the others were 5-6 hours with much conversation and laughter. (Though she’s been obsessing a bit about turning 60.) She knew he had a private plane and dropped all sorts of hints about Michael flying her to St Barth’s for her b-day weekend. Then she didn’t hear from him for a few days. Surprise, Surprise ..read more

Hello to my friends scouring dating sites for the “one”! After nearly 30 years of helping singes, divorced and widow(ers) finding love, I can think of a few reasons. Dating Burnout. Exhaustion. Frustration. At odds with how to approach the cyber world. But I decided to ask 5 of my clients this week---and I’ve shared their thoughts and comments on the benefits of hiring a dating coach. Note: I did not edit---but I did take the liberty of changing their names and locations for privacy reasons and had their permission to share these with you. I’m only going to share 3 so you don’t fall asleep! S ..read more

SFAR (single for a reason) is a real thing. On a monthly basis as a dating coach, I talk to dozens of clients…Plus those who want to become clients. And the things I hear. So, this will be some straight talk, no BS. If I had a dollar for every single man or woman who called me and said--- 1. There are no good singles out there---they are all married 2. Men want slim model types 3. My girlfriends tell me the horrors of online dating 4. Online doesn’t work for me 5. They just want my money or to be taken care of And many more. All excuses. This is not the year 2000 when online dating was still ..read more

Aren’t we all? While I’m not a big proponent of New Year’s resolutions, I do think the flip of the calendar year affords new opportunities. 2023 sounds good to me. So, this morning I’m reading through my normal news online and enjoyed this article from 1440, so I’m sharing bits and pieces and my take on each as it pertains to dating. (FYI—1440 is the number of minutes in the day---and one of my favorite daily news junkets online and it’s free). Quotes and Dating Tips: 1. “Plant seeds every single day that you know who you are, you know what you’re about and you know what goals you’ve set for ..read more

Red Flags vs. Green Flags on 1st Dates

Hmmm, why do we hear so much more about red flags on online dating versus green flags? Probably because we sometimes reflect on the negative---research says we have 80,000 thoughts per day and 80% are negative. Geez, I can barely believe that but I’ll leave it to the scientists and stop there! Ok, on weekly coaching calls with my clients as a dating coach as the Founder of 33000Dates.com, we peruse potential dates for each client on a weekly basis and many of you know my 50-50 rule----if you’re on the fence about a person, meet them for coffee. You just never know. No one is a 100% sure thing ..read more

Worst Things to Do on a First Date
33000 Dates

Studies show that the first 15 minutes of a date are crucial---first impressions are made and rarely changed after this. As a dating consultant for singles for over 25+ years, oh wow, the things I’ve heard done on first dates from intelligent people perplexes me. Sometimes I give them the benefit of the doubt---perhaps nerves? But others, no way! So, here we go: 1. Boasting about their career/job Seems to be more of a male thing…remember you are on a date, not a job interview blowing your trumpet about career accomplishments. 2. Being Over/Under Dressed You are meeting for cocktails---a hoodi ..read more
