Testers needed for an Android app

I thought I'd have a go at building some mobile phone applications, and my first one is ready, but Google won't make it available on their Play Store until the app has passed a 'closed test' with a minimum of 20 users, so I have to find 20 people willing to act as beta testers. Testers need to have an android phone.I've set up a web page at https://asrosoft.com/mobile/shop_i1, so anyone interested can see some screenshots before deciding to participate or not. It is essentially a fairly simple, stand alone shopping list app that will be free to download and have no advertising. The three main ..read more

Property wanted site - owners to respond

Hi all.I am advising a client on a concept and keen to get feedback from the Geekzone team as to your thoughts as this progresses.1. Would this appeal as a buyer and why?2. Would this appeal as a seller and why?My thoughts were, as a buyer, its a low pressure model as you are expressing an interest and can use the site to engage with initially with whoever you choose. As a seller, you may avoid listing and other selling fees by direct engagement with a potential buyer. It would be the sellers choice to engage a real estate agent or not, as it is today. The issue I see is that there would be a lo ..read more

IndigoStack — new native macOS app for local web development, now in public beta

IndigoStack is a native macOS app which provides a fresh take on how to run all the services you need for local web development. I've been building it for myself as a Laravel developer and I'm now looking to get some beta testers on board.Check it out and sign up to the forums if you'd like to download the beta: https://indigostack.app My motivation:Like many developers I've developed a love-hate relationship with the existing options for local development on a Mac. If they're virtualised, you'll often get...* high CPU usage* high RAM usage* poor filesystem performance / syncing* command line ..read more

FileFlows - file/video processing application

Started working on this a few weeks ago. http://fileflows.comHeres a YouTube Playlist (still learning how to do these, the audio started bad, getting better)Basically, it's a rule-based file processor. Lets you automatically take actions on files as they are found. It's very influenced by node-red and some Unity AI plugins I've used in the past. I was using unmaniac and I tried tdarr to do this, but found those too difficult/clunky to use for my use case. But my primary goal of this is to automatically convert video files to my preferred format of h265/AC3. I have a cut-down live demo availabl ..read more

"Live" Animated HD NZ from space (Himawari 8)

This is an early alpha, lots of work to come, just wanted to see if there is any interest in a more HD sat animated feed + feedback. The first load is a bit jumpy while it loads all the images, it's on a ~5h loop, and once the images are loaded it should be smooth as silk (if it's not, it's your pc, I hope to make it less resources intensive, though not sure how yet without losing image detail).NZ: https://sat.adriel.co.nz/images/vue_nz.html - uses the JMA feed, "frame blending" to make it appear smooth (+ a tad blurry) with the low frames I have to work with.AUS/NZ: https://sat.adriel.co.nz/im ..read more

Wish list - a POE or WiFi rain gauge
Geekzone » Startups
by

I have searched extensively for a rain gauge (and temperature perhaps) that can be connected to POE or a home wifi connection. All the remote weather stations that I can find for sale connect to an inside screen using a battery powered propriety wireless connection. Some of them then upload to a service for viewing but in most cases it is fairly basic, particularly the inside viewing panel. In this day and age it is easy to purchase a camera that constantly streams its data that can be accessed from any internet connection and viewed on any device such as a mobile phone app without an intermedi ..read more
