Hi,
I have a new start up where I am importing packaging products such as Kraft Paper, Greaseproof Paper, Silicone Coated Paper, etc from Asia to customers here in the UK. However, I noticed that the customers in UK are not really keen to get these products from the ports themselves and are requesting smaller quantities to be delivered to their warehouses. Has anyone with similar businesses have faced this challenge? Is anyone able to advise what kind of costs am I looking to have my own...

Hello,
I would like to start up a dried fruit business:
1) Import from third country into the UK
2) Package myself
3) Sell online
But I have not idea what kind of permission or license it needs for each step, any information you can provide would be great for me.
Kind regards

Hello all, I'm excited to have found this forum (and feel daft for sticking to social media and reddit rather than Google- is that an age thing? )
Anyway, I am an experienced manager with a background in high pressure and dynamic situations. I've have a diploma in leadership and study the topic in my spare time quite extensively, applying that to my day job. But I'm looking to branch out and offer this experience to new managers or new business owners as a side hustle.
I've got a website...

Hi all, looking for some advice on what people look for when shopping online. I'm selling shelving/racking online, the type you would use in a garage, workshop, shed etc..
If shopping for this. Once you find the size you need, do you then just look at price, or look more in detail at the spec of the product?
I can source/sell lower quality units that look exactly the same as better quality ones but for a lower price. Or better more expensive units, but no visual difference on the main...

Hi,
I'm looking at starting up a furniture business where I import furniture from Europe and sell via a showroom as well as online.
I've got my ducks in a row (import duty, VAT, logistics, premises rent, insurance delivery etc) but the question I cannot get the answer to is on average, how many pieces of furniture does a retailer sell per day, week and month in the UK?
Could anyone give me the answer or worse way a rough indication? I understand it depends on many factors but I still...

Hi!
I am wanting to open up a pet food & accessories shop, however I am struggling with figures/statistics.
There are no pet food shop’s directly in my town, I have to travel to 2 seperate ones which are over 30 mins to get to each from my house, in the opposite direction from each other.
I have some purchase guides from wholesalers, have got around 8 wholesalers secured so far. However, I don’t know how much dog food would actually sell. I know there is market for it, I know there has...

I'm an artist/graphic designer and the wife is the crafts person, together we want to create a beaded jewelry shop that's very slick with high end vibes. I have a background in web design, illustration for film etc. so we have great visions for how this will look. We have ideas for themed jewelry sets etc.
So, money is kinda tight right now as the whole reason we're doing this is because we were in the games industry and it collapsed. So we're trying to be smart about things and careful...

Hi,
This is my first post/question so please go east on me .
After deliberating for a while about which kind of business I would like to put my energy into I have decided to explore the recruitment industry. Although I don’t have vast experience of a full time recruiter I have been recruiting as part of my job (Kitchen Manager) for over 13 years. I feel like I can bring something different and I have a few ideas on how, using my links with top industry companies, I can get a foot in the...
