My birthday is close to Memorial Day weekend every year, and I like to take advantage of the long weekend by checking a town off of my Colorado travel list.
In years past, my friends and I have soaked up the San Juan Mountain views in the warmth of the Pagosa hot springs and gone whitewater rafting in Class 4 rapids down the Royal Gorge in Cañon City. This year, we’re planning on sandboarding through Great Sand Dunes National Park.
But it was my trip to Ouray in 2022 that still has me in pure awe. The mountain town is tucked in a valley surrounded by the San J ..read more

He’s been the object of desire, played Liberace, portrayed an acting coach (Netflix’s “The Kominsky Method”) and even starred as an American president who was falling in love (1995’s “The American President,” opposite Annette Bening).
Michael Douglas has a knack for playing famous people, or people who become famous (at least in Hollywood lore) after he has played them. Here are some of his most memorable characters.
Inspector Steve Keller (“The Streets of San Francisco”): The long-running TV series (1972-1977) paired up a hot-shot investigator (Douglas) with a police veteran (Karl Malden) and ..read more

Rapper Afroman has performed many shows in Colorado and each time he visits, the people here always seem to make him uncomfortable with how nice they are.
“One time I was looking for an address and three strangers came from out of nowhere trying to help me find it. I didn’t know if someone was trying to steal my wallet,” he said with a laugh. “I never been uncomfortable with people being nice ’til I got to Colorado. It was giving me the goosebumps.”
Still, Afroman keeps coming back because of the vibe – “I call it California in the deep freezer,” he said, in large part because of the abundance ..read more

Dismal. Crashed and burned. Total BS.
Those are a few choice words that fans on Reddit used to describe season 17 of “Married at First Sight,” based in Denver. Some lamented it might be the series’ worst season yet – and perhaps with good reason.
A quick recap for the uninitiated: “Married at First Sight” (MAFS) travels to various cities across the U.S. searching for single folks ready to get hitched. The show is hosted by a team of matchmaking experts, who pair the singles up based on their perceived compatibility. The first time the couple meets is at the altar and after a two-month trial ma ..read more

Meghan Markle’s socialite friends are helping her roll out her first product under her new America Riviera Orchard brand: strawberry jam, for which only 50 jars have apparently been produced.
Fashion designer Tracy Robbins and Argentine socialite Delfina Blaquier posted images of the jam on their Instagram Stories Tuesday, The Telegraph reported. The labeling also shows the jam was made in Meghan’s hometown of Montecito and the jars are being sold as part of a limited edition that could make the product pretty pricey.
Neither Robbins nor Blaquier mentioned a price in their posts, and American ..read more

When New York City restaurateur Keith McNally called James Corden a “tiny Cretin of a man” in 2022, he was able to count on swaths of support among people who tend to agree that the former late-night host is one of today’s more annoying celebrities.
But it looks like McNally, the owner of famed eatery Balthazar, has gone too far with one of his brash and provocative opinions about another famous person. In an Instagram post Monday, he called Lauren Sanchez “absolutely revolting” and said that she and her fiancé, multibillionaire Amazon fonder Jeff Bezos, make “an ugly and (expletive) smug-look ..read more

Tom Cruise’s three ex-wives, Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, probably would have a lot to say about being married to the famously intense mega-star and their time inside his beloved Church of Scientology.
But these women have mostly kept Cruise’s secrets, with experts in the inner workings of Scientology saying that Kidman and Holmes, in particular, probably signed non-disclosure agreements when their marriages to the “Top Gun” actor ended.
US actress Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise arrive the opening night premiere of “In The Heights” during the Tribeca Festival at the Unit ..read more

LONDON (AP) — Hugh Grant accepted “an enormous sum of money” to settle a lawsuit accusing The Sun tabloid of unlawfully tapping his phone, bugging his car and breaking into his home to snoop on him, the actor said Wednesday after the agreement was announced in court.
Grant, who along with Prince Harry had sued News Group Newspapers, said he settled reluctantly because he could have been stuck with a huge legal bill even if he prevailed at trial. Under civil court rules, he would have had to pay legal fees to both sides if he was awarded a penny less than the settlement offer.
