Hello All, is there a way to send a parcel to Singapore so that it wouldn't be delivered to the recipient's home, but the recipient would pick it up at a post office (or elsewhere)? Singapore Post offers POPStations, but it seems they are for commercial parcels from retailers only... Thanks ..read more

Good hotel in Singapore for a first timer?

An ex-neighbor of mine living in Singapore invited me over to hang, but he can't host me. What hotels in Singapore are good for a first-timer? I only require that it be clean, quiet, safe, and conveniently located for sight-seeing / transport. My budget's only around USD $100/nt. Certainly less than $150. Not looking for a luxury experience. Just want to explore the city. Also wondering, is 2 nights enough to sample the highlights of the city? Any time I spend in Singapore is time away from my main trip in Thailand. And I'm not a real city guy. I'm more of a mountains / hiking guy ..read more

Does anyone know of (from recent experience) any hotels that allow you to sit and relax in their club lounge after check-out? We’re leaving SIN on BA16 (22:35 departure) so would like to stay and relax at the hotel for as long as possible. We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental last time which allowed us to use the club lounge after check-out but they appear to have sold out for our date. Thanks ..read more

Onward travel requirement SIN > Brunei

Greetings, I have a one way United award ticket from Seattle to Brunei via LAX (on UA) & SIN (on SQ, 2nd & 3rd segments). Technically speaking, I need proof of return or onward travel for Brunei entry (visa free for US passports) but my onward ticket is from Kuching, MY to SIN. Will that be enough to satisfy UA or SQ should they ask at any of the 3 boardings? It's been my experience that "proof of return or onward travel," while an immigration requirement, is usually not asked for upon arrival but frequently by the airline at origin city boarding. Sometimes it is possible to by a fu ..read more

I am planning a few days visit to Singapore before I board a cruise that leaves February 1, 2025. I made plans to arrive January 28 before I learned that January 29 is the start of New Year’s celebrations. From what I’ve found, much of the celebrations will be private and at home. I’d love to see parades and other public events. The main ones I’ve been able to find are a parade that will take place after our cruise has left, and a light show at Marina Bay. Saw a video of a similar light show this year with amazing displays of a dragon that apparently are done with lights on drones. I would lov ..read more
