I have the clunk taking off and when hitting the brakes. I know its the slip joint but my question is. Its a 07 Titan 2 wheel drive 1. The driveshaft is a 2 piece, do I just lube the slip joint between the driveshaft with the rubber boot on it? 2. I see some people post to lube the slip joint going into the transmission. I don't think that is the thing to do but just want to know if I do that one also. The only REAL problem I have had is the door handles freezing in the cold and have been replaced three times. I am an automotive calibration engineer and have been working on the duramax diesel for three years. My areas are cruise control, electronic throttle control and torque management. My 2023 titan with 31,000 miles on it . I fueld up with regular unleaded. Drove less than a mile , and the truck just died while I was going about 25 mph. No warning lights came on. I pulled over and it started right back up and ran fine after that. I know they recommend premium fuel for the titan , but I cant see that cusing it to die .Any ideas ..read more

Sorry if this is long. I own trucks all my years driving (39 yrs) to be honest from Fords, Chevy’s, Dodge, Nissans, Toyota, and this is the only truck that has ever done or feel like this. Enjoy the website..glad to be a member! I have a 2005 SE 4x4 with tow package. It pulls a 2005 Topaz Travel Trailer 27'. The gross combined weight is 9200 lbs. (well under max). The Titan pulls like crap to put it bluntly when faced with any challenge. Granted, there is more wind resistance than a boat, but it struggles to hold 65 mph in real world conditions. ok guys- i am asking for input again.... after reading the '4x not working' post and learning some info about the c-clip....good to know.... it said something about the 'big tow' gearing and an 'off rd. pkg' gearing....which is what i have. now, it got me to wonder what my 'gearing' is AND if it could be leading to me not getting optimum mileage as well. i know on my old diesel it had a tag on the rear pumpkin that gave the gearing - 3.73 for best mileage - DOES the T have the same...
