W126 ‘85 500sel Door Check Strap Hinge

While preparing to replace driver’s door check strap, I discovered the pin hinge is loose. It appears two spot welds have come loose, caused by stiff check strap. The pin seems to be only thing preventing hinge from falling into the abyss. Is there an access point to this hinge? Thought I’d ask before removing driver foot well panel. I have a 1981 240D that I recently purchased. While getting the engine to start and run consistently is my main focus at the moment, doing something about the front seats is close behind. The driver's seat is pretty terrible. Not only is te seated position too high, but the seat is too springy. Feels like it's constantly trying to roll or throw you off of it. I'm also not a huge fan of the vinyl. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my seats?? The interior of the car is pretty bad generally, but the driver's seat just seems fundamentally bad. Of course, now that I have the entire car up and running - even the newly replaced cruise control amplifier, my steel fuel supply line rusted through and leaks. Does anyone know what the replacement part number is? Or do I need to fabricate one? OR, and I cut out the rusted area and insert rubber tubing to satisfy ..read more

1971 W114, 250, M130 engine in stock configuration (Zenith 35/40 carburetors, stock ignition). New to me this past winter. It always has been well serviced – just not driven the past few years. I've driven 600 miles in the past four months. Fundamentally the car runs wonderfully; it pulls strong, sounds good, shifts well. I have disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the carburetors (with fresh gaskets/o-rings). Hi all I have a 2012 mercedes C220 diesel and just recently sometimes on cold start the timing chain rattles until the tensioner kicks back in,my question is where is the tensioner located and how hard is it to replace on its own as although I paid good money for this car only last year it would not be cost effective to take it to a garage and have the timing chain and tensioner replaced. W124 300d 253k miles. While driving on the highway (ie not a bumpy road) at 65 mph or so, the ABS anti-lock brake system light flickered off and on a few times over the course of 30 miles. This has happened before and from what I know, it's no crisis but I wanted to ask why does this happen and how to fix it? Almost at the same time, and this never happened before, the ARS airbag restraint system light flickered off and on. Why did that happen and how to fix that? Thanks ..read more

Hey Yall! I am dropping my DEF tank and dont want to break these lines. What is the procedure for pulling off the quick release fittings on these semi hard lines and pump? This is on the 2010 Rclass.
