Does anyone have a non-X AM5 CPU that can look in the bios to see if ECO mode setting is available, and if it is does it do anything?
Any ECO Mode info I found was for CPUs ending in X.
On AM4 APUs, you could ECO Mode them from 65W down to 45W, which was useful for a system that you intended to leave running in a corner with a low load ..read more

Summary:
Solid quarter overall for AMD. Client sales are back up to normal levels after the large pull back last year. Console revenue is still way down and FPGA sales are down hard as well. Data center had a record quarter thanks to MI300 sales and increased Epyc sales. AMD is also projecting growth through next quarter and an optimistic view through the end of the year. Will have to wait for the earnings call to see if and how the forecast for MI300 revenue has changed.
Advanced Micro Devices press release (NASDAQ:AMD): Q1 Non-GAAP EPS of $0.62 beats by $0.01.
Revenue of $5.47B (+2.2 ..read more

I saw a news article about AMD yesterday, and looked up the full public market value of both Intel and AMD. I thought that if AMD was doing really well, it might have a valuation of about 80% of Intel.
Imagine my surprise when some quick math showed that AMD had a public market value of about 3.5 times Intel.
How is this possible?
At least as far as I know, Intel still controls about 2/3 of the PC market. How in the world can AMD be priced so high, comparably ..read more

Idle temps are in the 30s, high 30s if I had already pushed the CPU since boot, low 30s if not. Ran Prime95 for 2 hours and temps held stable at 92 degrees with 0 throttling. With the stock cooler I was reaching 100 and throttling but not enough to cause crashes, just lowered clock speeds. Idle on the stock cooler was in the 40s. Aren't ..read more

LPDDR6-12800 @ Q3-2024 ?
According to Samsung:
Next up is the LPDDR6, the next-generation JEDEC standard low-power DRAM, and it is no surprise that Samsung is leading the industry in defining the specification.
It seems JEDEC has approved the LPDDR6 standard (Update: Q3 2024) then Hynix and Samsung are going to mass produce LPDDR6. Micron is surprisingly not listing LPDDR6 in their roadmap...
