Intel has gained lot of attention with their issues with 13th and 14th gen. I believe mostly i9s and i7s are affected. Also not all microcode updates have really fixed the real issue. My motherboard (AsRock Z790 PG Lightnin) has received 3 bios updates with the latest being 0x129 microcode update.
I have ran my i5-13600KF overclocked to 5.4Ghz for P-cores and 4.3Ghz for E-cores. Vcore under heavy load is 1.255V. When I overclocked my CPU 1.5 years ago, 1.250V wasn't stable in all the stress...

I delidded a 14900KS last night (my second time doing this), and after doing everything as normal to achieve a mirror finish on the die, there was a stubborn stain on the die’s surface that I could not remove. I spend 4+ hours specifically attacking this stain by alternating between rockitcool quicksilver soaks, flitz polishing, Liquid Metal (conductonaut extreme) soaks, and I even tried polishing it with NTH1 thermal paste (Der8auer said in a YT vid that thermal paste works as a die...

Following up on my first post - as promised, here are the results - P Scores, VIDs, and IMC Testing results. Please let me know which of these you think I should keep and delid - my primary use case will be overclocking to achieve higher FPS in gaming (COD).
I tested the IMC of every chip, but only did a deeper dive into...

Hi guys,
I used the RockIt Cool delid tool. I paid attention to the direction of the IHS being removed so that it would not slide over the capacitors.
I did everything with care, but both times, I killed not only the CPU but also the MB. The second time, I literally burned the mb, lol. There was smoke from both the socket and the VRM.
The first time, I completed all the processes (applied LM and used a copper IHS).
The second time, I tested the CPU right after delidding (I put the...

Hi.
I'm trying to improve thermal performance for my Core i9 1100KF, using 240 water cooling AIO.
I got it stable at Core Voltage Adaptive @ -0.075v
1st question: Is there anything else I can do to improve thermal preformance or increase core ratio/speeds?
2nd question: Even at idle or at full load, the cores are always at 4,800Mhz. Why is that? Why when I run Cinebench single core, I don't see 5,300Mhz for a core?
(see 2nd screenshot - idle but still 4800Mhz)
