Can anyone here help me name this song? I heard someone singing this beautiful song but the quality of the video is bad and Shazam can’t identify it. Thanks!! statistics: Posted by Yajayra24 — 7:42 PM - 1 day ago ..read more

Answered my own question with some additional research - it's called a "Flat VII chord" and it's a pretty common way to insert a non-diatonic chord into a song to add some additional variety/interest. I've never seen this listed in compilations of common song chord progressions for some reason. Here's a good article: https://www.secretsofsongwriting.com/2011/05/06/using-a-flat-vii-chord-in-your-songs-progressions/ statistics: Posted by sejman — 7:59 PM - 1 day ago ..read more

First timer here - learning to play and listening to more bluegrass music (guitar and banjo). I've come across a couple of songs that have me scratching my head when it comes to the chord progression. They don't appear to follow the usual I-iV-V (with occasional II or VI thrown in) but rather alternate between the tonic and the flat 7 a lot. For example, the song "Groundhog" if played in the key of G starts on G and then immediately goes to F major then goes back to G and the more typical C and D (the IV and V in G). Another example is "Julie" (originally a Waylon Jennings song but recently re ..read more

Good morning. I'm taking the Princess for a tooth extraction this AM, but bloodwork shows she probably has Cushing's disease, which may be a game-changer. We can't afford all of the $ to diagnose and treat ( no cure ) her, a lifelong and very pricey regimen. Tough choice. Hope all is well with y'all. Mornin'. I decided early on that I'd go back to the ER to get the stitches out. After a two hour wait, it took the nurse over 20 minutes to dig them out of the scabbing enough to pull them. Glad we didn't attempt it ourselves, 'cause we'd have ended up back there anyway. Happy Tuesday. Dave statistics: Posted by dmcowles — 9 minutes ago ..read more

A happy tgif from foggy damp 57 deg MD.  Got 1/4" of the 2"+ they are forecasting. The old 12 yr old Pooter has posted an error message the HD is about to fail. I ran some Win10 diagnostics and cleanup programs.  Didnt find any issues.  Though it does seem to run a tad faster. Trying to decide on a whole new Pooter or replace the HD only.  Still a PIA cause we loose some of the real old programs. I've been MP3-ing all my CD's.  100's of them.  Only got maybe 50 done. It seems the going rate for just the PC is about $600 and up.  I need a CD reader which is no ..read more

Oh Dave... I also hurt all over reading your posts.  About a year ago I tripped over a wheelchair ramp at an antiques mall near here.  Bent up my specs and woke up with a hell of a racoon eye (good one I never heard that one).  Nowhere near the whopper shiner you got. Hope all went well with the Princess... Please tell me it was NOT your shooting eye...  No pool till it heals? Rest up my friend statistics: Posted by FlatpickaHD28 — 10:43 PM - 1 day ago ..read more
