Do you think it’s ok to tell people I have short term memory loss?

I have ADHD and my memory is so flimsy nowadays. You know when you walk into a room and you don’t know what you’re doing? That’s like every time I walk into a room now ? I have good coping skills, like searching the teams chat, sending scheduled emails to remind myself, and doing outbound calls right when I get the message so I don’t forget in two minutes. Sometimes I will forget something a patient says and some people get mad at me. I usually just apologize, but it’s not my fault at all! Do you think it’s too much to say that I have memory loss or should I just eat it? I also have GERD and ..read more

Would this be considered call avoidance?

Hello, Kind of a weird question but my call center doesn't score for AHT. That being said I was always getting pulled into meetings because mine was too small (not enough time on a call) even though I was doing everything right. Lately they've been trying to screw with me and we're in our busy season. I've started taking extra long on calls. Like way longer. I just go through things slower, maybe pretend the computer is slow or I'm taking extra time to look things up. Like went from 5 min calls to 20-30 min. They've been pulling calls for reviews which is normal but they only pull the shortes ..read more

I have been working in the call centre for 3 months now. There is one thing I am still struggling with: when a customer talks to me in a way which makes my heart pound, I still cannot handle it. I have to put them on hold to ask my colleague the answer, even though I know what the answer is. Or when they ask for my name then try to intimidate me after if I can't give them what they want. Or if they are rude to me, I immediately back down. Growing up I was always very non-confrontational, shyed away from any confrontation or just did what people wanted me to. However in this job there are thin ..read more

How worried should I be if I got an action form? (TP)

Hi! Hope everyone is doing ok. So I had 3 weeks of nesting and today I finished it. Next week I will "oficially" start to work in the site and my metrics are a little above the average, nothing to be proud of but they are good. The problem is in my first week of nesting I abandoned 5 calls because I was scared and didnt have the hability to handle rude costumers (first time working in call center). My supervisor saw this and warned me she was going to do an action form and it still to be seen if the lawyers of the company will have some part in it. After that happened I obviously stopped aban ..read more

STFU while I'm talking

A HUGE pet peeve of mine is when the person on the other line has to constantly make noise if they are not talking. Anything from saying, "okay, okay" repeatedly or even saying hello WHILE I AM TALKING TO THEM. The last lady on my line was one like that. Now I just stop talking completely every time they say something. It's just so damn annoying submitted by /u/Sea-Writer-5659 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I've been working for my current employer for a relatively long time call-centre wise (>2yrs). Long history of how I wound up to where I am throughout my time there, but for a while I've been back on phones for inbound and outbound collection calls. Customer base is very broad given the nature of the employer. Despite everything I've written below I'm one of the top performing staff in my team and literally one of the only people actually meeting KPIs... I'm so f*king burnt out from talking to people and being a fake btch all day. For reference I've long-suspected I am autistic (I have an ..read more

I do WFH and I have been through trials and tribulations of this job. I don't hate it tbh. It's just the repetitive and stagnating nature of it that gets to me. I get seriously pissed off when people don't use common sense. submitted by /u/anxiousaspirant [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I don't know if that really happened, but it genuinely brought a smile on my face, and made me remember some funny and heartwarming moments I've had during some calls.
