Hello,
I am new to forums but trying to find some ideas that may improve my Dakota 4x4's performance.
At present it has a stock 5.2 (200,000 miles and patented head cracks pressurizing the coolant), automatic trans, 3.5 gear ratio. I have replaced the truck bed and front bumper to follow my hunting hounds after mountain lions and bears in Montana. My original intent was to keep her as close to stock as possible besides the custom flatbed and winch bumper but that no longer appears to be...

Ok so I've been doing a lot of research on this subject and I can't decide which PCM to use. The vehicle in question is a 03 Dakota 3.9 with SKIM Originally I thought it would be best to convert it to a 03 Dakota 4.7 transmission and PCM, then modify a 4.7 harness to work on a 5.7 (wiring for me is NOT a problem) This way I hopefully wouldn't have problems with other systems not working such as instrument panel, check lights, cruise control, hvac, ect. Then from the reading I've done it...

I have read a few of the previous engine swaps. Great work and photos.
Okay it is 2024 and I have a question. I have a 2004 Dakota with a bad 4.7 2WD auto. I was looking at a 5.7 used engine from a Ram 2005 model.
From what I just read in this forum, this might be a good mix. The motor mounts sound like they will be an issue since it is 2WD. Also, will the oil pan or crossover need to be modified with this combo?
I know there will be wiring issues, but there is a lot of information out...

I know what that is but my question is what will I need extra to put my 5.7 hemi I bought for my off road buggy in her truck instead. I decided to go with the 392 hemi for my buggy ..read more

From one of my last threads I had a p0138 stored and p0141 pending codes along with my fuel gauge not working. I found that the ASD wire to the DS o2 wire was crushed same with the signal wire to the fuel pump (which is why I didn’t have a fuel gauge) thanks to the last guy who crushed the wiring harness in between the cab . Fixed the wires and cleared the codes. Started it up and checked live data. the good news is my DS was no longer reading a constant 1v the bad news is it started at...
