In September 2019, gay fashion designer Pol’ Atteu was brutally attacked at a charity fashion show in Los Angeles by a man who was angry that his daughter had not been chosen to be in the show. Five years later, Atteu is finally getting justice.  The attack sent Atteu to the hospital for two days with a concussion, a broken shoulder, bruises, and other injuries. More states have announced lawsuits against the Biden administration over its new Title IX rules mandating anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ students, bringing the total number of states suing the administration to 14. The Biden administration announced a new rule to protect LGBTQ+ youth in foster care, creating a system of designated placements for LGBTQ+ children as well as taking steps to address harassment and abuse against LGBTQ+ foster kids no matter where they’re placed. Two transphobic bills in the Mississippi have died after Republican lawmakers were unable to compromise on their provisions before a Monday deadline, the Associated Press reported.
