This is really the first watch I have purchase myself and it’s #5 to the collection. I would also consider this the first luxury watch as well. I know it’s not the standard Tudor, Rolex, or GS, but I love the story behind Monta which is also local to me. I just got my new racing strap for my old citizen chronograph from 1973 and I’m really happy with it even if it has a little wear and tear since it’s over 50 years old. The only downside is the small imperfection in the white pain on the minutehand, otherwise I don’t mind the scratches or less then optimal accuracy. I managed to find it online for about 400$ and was hooked by the colour, racing style, small size (36mm) and price for an automatic fly back chronograph. I’ve been into watches for a little over 3 years now, and have always been drooling oer these ‘Peter Blakes’ ever since i laid eyes on them for the first time. Everything from the way the hour markers are shaped, the non skeleton hands, the dial as well as the case thickness were all very much to my liking. I recently purchased a 36mm Quartz seamaster 300 from EBay. The sale went smoothly and without issues. went to my local watchmaker (also happens to be an Omega certified service center) to get the bracelet resized and looked at. Everything seemed to be in order, albeit the bracelet had some worn parts. After giving it a quick glance, he told me that i could potentially let it get polished up, seeing as it showed quite a bit of wear on the case and primarily the bracelet.
