My garden could use a bit more personality.
In the past, my garden has been all business, all-the-time. What do I mean by this? I mean everything I do has been to increase yields, or grow better tasting fruits and vegetables.
Who cares what the garden looks like or how it makes me feel. Flowers are for pollinators, not for making things look nice.
Garden potting benches are for repotting. Never mind how charming they are. Fencing is for keeping the varmints out, not for making pretty scenery.

I’ve been starting seeds for over 10 years. During that time, I’ve made all the mistakes. One year, for example, I bought bad seed starting mix. My seedlings were so bad I had to throw them all out. I ended up buying seedlings at the local nursery.

What is OMRI Listing? Why should backyard gardeners care if a product is OMRI Listed or not?
OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) is a non profit organization dedicated to supporting organic integrity. This includes the integrity of organic products used by backyard food gardeners.
The organization provides a very helpful service by creating a list of products that are safe for organic gardening. Products on the list proudly carry the designation “OMRI Listed.”
